Micromanagement. They are saying one thing in your ear and you can’t even listen to the customer.
Life and Health Insurance Specialist (Former Employee) - Spring, TX - September 12, 2023
Played favoritism. Management got snarky. Loved dealing with clients. Took back-to-back phone calls for most of the day. The hardest part was getting singled out, and ridiculed during team conversations. I loved helping people. I did not like being micromanaged to the extent that they did.
Pros
Great insurance, great pay, fair for the most part.
Cons
Management played favorites, and called people out in front of the group during team meetings.

Training is next to none and is recommended for the W2 side prior to changes made in 2023.
Licensed Insurance Agent (Former Employee) - Remote - July 5, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? W2 Training is the best part of the job and management is also good. The 1099 side of Assurance is not good. Agents aren't appreciated and are demanded to work despite being told they have the option to work on demand. I would not recommend anyone work 1099 position with Assurance, but do recommend W2. The company has made a lot of changes which only which is negative for employees and company alike. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not being appreciated and not receiving notification of changes prior to changes being implemented. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? 1099 the work environment is stressful on the 1099 side. Management just seems to be in the business for the money and does not have the proper training. W2 some managers do help the agents and do care but not on the 1099 side. ALot os agents left the company because of how disrespectful some mangers are. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Remote. Sign in on the company provides computer for W2 agents. Accept inbound and make out bound calls, texts and emails using CRM tools and work an 8 hour shift with 1/2hr break. On the 1099 side similar but you work based on your availabilty and not get paid unless you make a sale.

The company overall is a good company and knows it's way forward. However, upper growth potential is limited.
Medicare Health Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - Remote - April 18, 2023
The pace of my day was more or less solid. In that I had one job to do daily, and that was to close Medicare insurance policies. The hardest part of the job is the constant threat of losing your job if you do not meet your own goal. Because once you have consistently met your own goal you will be challenged and coached if you do not meet your personal goal. While keeping in mind the companies daily goal was met regularly.

The Way Work Should Be
Licensed Life Insurance Agent (Current Employee) - Remote - November 30, 2022
This is a 1099 Telesales position for licensed Life and Health Insurance sales people. You work as much or as little as you want and are paid out daily. You have to account for you own taxes, but the liberty of controlling your own schedule, your own time....priceless.
Pros
Freedom over time
Cons
none

Baits seniors with false advertising
Licensed Life, Health and Medicare Insurance Agent (Former Employee) - Humana - September 28, 2022
Marketing and Advertising team are a joke. They falsely advertise “stimulus checks” for seniors just to get them to call and then of course the callers get angry and call the company a scam when we can’t offer a stimulus check. I’ve gotten so many rude and angry seniors and I don’t blame them. I’m personally so frustrated with having to take these calls over and over and a ton of my peers feel the same way. It’s miserable coming into work everyday and mentally draining. And it’s true what others say about the comp tiers. If you start off making sales and keep it up you get the better, more legit, leads and can keep that going and make an actual commission. But when you have a few bad days your tier plummets and you’re stuck at the bottom with the worst leads and can’t get out of it. At that point you’re just an hourly worker dealing with all these angry callers bc you’re not going to make a sale off of them. I’m not going to lie, I love the work atmosphere, I love my manager and the support all around. But this company’s lead generation is the absolute worst. Unless you can sit there and get yelled at/hung up on all day by angry people and not care at all to make any sales then I definitely don’t recommend this job to anyone.

Used to be a great place to be!
Remote Sales Representative (Former Employee) - Tennessee - September 19, 2022
The first year that I was with assurance it was absolutely fantastic and everything that I wanted it to be in more! By the second year, I knew it was not going to be where I could retire and truly thrive. The pros are that it’s completely flexible and you can make your own hours. The cons are that the company tends to take a little more from the agents each year instead of give them a little more.

Telemarketing
a typical day at work is telemarketing. You learn that most shoppers believe that the ads that the shopper's applied to online was misleading and most shopper's are upset that they responded to ads promoting an increase in social security benefits, free food, or assistance with rent, home or utility expenses and in return, the shopper's where directed to an insurance company. The workplace culture? I'd rather not respond because everyone's experience is not the same. Some can say great things wherein other's can't. The hardest part of the job is the call volume. I am independently contracted with a third party and are paid only for talk time. I don't know how Assurance receive there leads but based on the shopper's voice, shopper's believe they where mislead to provide their information. As a guide, you are disciplined by having your call volume reduce to little or no calls if the policy assist rate is low and if your transfer rate is low. The metrics can be hard to meet especially when 40% or more of the calls are classified as hang ups, 40% are voicemails, 10% are not interest, and 10% of the shopper's might agree to be transferred to a live agent for further assistance with enrolling in a plan. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to help someone with meeting their needs

You get what you put in.
Remote Sales Insurance (Current Employee) - Spooner, WI - May 20, 2022
Great training and backup support. In a remote sales job, you get what you put on. Very flexible job schedule, which I loved. Great training program for new and vets.

Great platform if you are very independent and do not need hardly any assistance.
Medicare Sales Representative (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - May 16, 2022
If there is nothing else I would continue but hopefully there is better out there. Don't even bother to refer anyone to work there they might not give you credit on stupid technicalities it is ridiculous. There is any kind of support when it comes to your customers if you talk to someone and work those leads and they decided to call you back, good luck if someone get that call they can easily take your customer you have been working with and no management care, even if you have clear back and forward communication and calls back and forward with the prospect.

Rigerous and Frustrating
Insurance Broker (Former Employee) - Fort Lauderdale, FL - November 29, 2021
The worst leads ever. Difficult to make money. Some days they will only allow you to have 8 leads, other days more. So you sit and wait hours to be provided with new leads.

super flexible
Licensed Insurance Agent (Current Employee) - Chicago, IL - October 28, 2021
Assurance is a great company to work with as an Independent Agent. Your time is flexible and they pay daily through zelle. It is mostly inbound leads that are free and you will make sales. The training is self paced and if you need help there is always support just a click or phone call away.
Pros
flexible schedule and daily pay
Cons
the platform is always being upgraded to so you have to roll with the punches

Guide
Guide Representative (Former Employee) - Remote - October 20, 2021
Subpar job but it was work from home. Pay scale should be per hour not minute. Made more working doordash than here. Most customers hung up before transfer and the few who stuck around sometimes got disconnected after transferring to rep. Hard to make money that way being paid per minute.
Pros
Work from home
Cons
Pay

Too good to be true
I worked as an insurance guide and within the first 3 weeks I made 4k... Calls were steady... Once open enrollment kicked in calls declined. I relied on this job to support my family. Fortunately, I was able to secure a better job.
