Good place to lose your license
Licensed Vocational Nurse (Former Employee) –  Menlo Park, CAJanuary 23, 2019
Sadly the politics of this place effect your work environment. The pay is decent however for everything they ask of you, it does not match well. They care more about the business aspect than their employees and benefits are not worth it. The patient are was also very poor and we were often understaffed.

Poor Management; Poor Residents
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) –  Menlo Park, CADecember 27, 2018
The management here is terrible. They play politics and will get rid of you if you go against them.

CNAs are always short because they all quit because of the poor management. The pay is nice sure, but it is not worth it.

And the residents have to suffer because of the poor management.

This place needs to get closed down for the residents' sakes; they do not care about the residents, just money.

Look this nursing home up on U.S. News Health. 2/5 Stars, garbage.

Good place for first time CNA job.
Certified Nurse Assistant (Former Employee) –  Palo Alto, CAJune 10, 2018
Perfect for students getting out of CNA school. They hire with no experience and provide CPR certification. Alot of heavu work with patients. Charge Nurses don't communicate with CNA.

Registered Nurse - Charge Nurse (Current Employee) –  CaliforniaMay 14, 2018
Overall, it's an ok place to work. Management is accommodating and listens to you, there's just some amount of politics, which is normal in every workplace.

Great place to learn
Wing Nurse/Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Menlo Park, CAMay 22, 2017
This is a great place to learn how to prioritize and gain some skills. At Atherton you will have a lot of patients, like any other SNF but you have treatment nurses, unit managers and experienced RN's who will help you learn the ins and outs of SNF's. I like atherton compared to other SNF's. It's MUCH better.
Pros
Learning environment
Cons
Lack of staff

I like the people I work with, I believe in the managements goals and care. Some of the patients are difficult to work with but if you can survive here, you can do anything.

Pretty lobby, bad patient care
Staff (Former Employee) –  Menlo Park, CADecember 5, 2016
Seems like they've recently remodeled but the true story lies on the 2nd and 3rd floor, especially bad patient care and management. Patients come and go right back to the hospital, unsanitary conditions, shower rooms are used to store equipment, staff ignore patients calling for help, and residents always fall cause no one is available to help. I wouldn't put my family in here, not even the family dog.
Pros
new and updated lobby
Cons
Horrible patient care, unsanitary living conditions, patients falling often, and shady nursing documenting.
