Management Lied
Logistics and Regulatory Compliance Manager (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COAugust 26, 2018
Management lied to their employees about offering a package to those who were laid off by Microchip, after Microchip acquired Atmel.
Executive management was good at paying themselves, not the employees.
Pros
People I worked with were great

Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COAugust 8, 2018
I loved working here. The only thing I didn't like was that they laid me off. The shifts are long but they do pay well. Overall a very good place to work

PRINCIPAL PROCESS TECHNICIAN (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COJuly 22, 2018
Receive a pass down from the previous shift technicians. Work on assigned issues during the shift. Provide a pass down on production equipment and issues to the next shift.

It to much stress to work there
WJ Associate (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COJuly 15, 2018
It is a place where is too much stress to work, too many hours to work under the same conditions, many of coworkers are tired of this kind of job, because the benefits don't reflect the hard job everybody did over there
Pros

Lousy place to work
Production Operator (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COJune 29, 2018
Clicky teams. Long hours with minimal breaks. Pay is not on par with the work. Low opportunity for advancement unless you've clicked up with some part of management.
Pros
Overtime after 8 hours
Cons
everything else

Pr. Process Integration/Design engineer (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COJune 22, 2018
A good company to work with, at least on engineer level in Colorado Springs and sites in Russet, France, and Heibronn, Germany that I worked with. Not much non-sense.

Job itself was relatively easy, Lots to learn with great people to teach you. Would have stayed longer if they didn't release all the temporary help that was hired for seasonal

A good place to work if you are into electronics to find out how they work. No real opportunity for advancement and turn around is high with layoffs coming at random.

Fun place to work
WAFER FAB SPECIALIST (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COJanuary 16, 2018
Fun place to work. Hardest part was the 12 hour night shifts and the full body uniforms, and the limitation of hygiene products you can wear. Management was awesome.

This a manufacturing company so you do have a quota you have to make. You can not be lazy. Annual reviews are not the best. The supervisor is only aloud to give 4 people good reviews the rest are average or below average

Great company - too many layoffs
Production Control Planner (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COJanuary 5, 2018
Honeywell was a great semi-conductor company with many job growth opportunities. Fabulous training and paid education to help advancement. Then the layoffs started and the plant was sold to ATMEL. Wave after wave of layoffs had a substantial impact on workplace culture.
Pros
Training and job opportuities
Cons
Layoffs

dysfunctional
Senior Systems Administrator (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COJanuary 3, 2018
When I was there, a few members of the IT dept had just been through some internal argument, and they didn't work together well. They weren't talking, didn't like each other, weren't interested in the work.
This was a manufacturing facility with HQ in another city. The decision making power was at the HQ and there really wasn't much to do here. So the dysfunction didn't really hold them back much, but it was dull and uncomfortable.
Office equipment was decades old. Worn out desks, chairs, carpet, with lots of hard sharp edges.
Pros
Quiet
Cons
Nothing you do matters.

Environmental Services Custodian (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, CODecember 21, 2017
ATMEL was a great job not to difficult or complicated. Pay was adequate, and the opportunity for overtime was plenty. Benefits were great. Days off fantastic. The management were friendly and very helpful took time to say hello. HR was always there when needed.
Pros
The schedule three days on four days off and alternated.
Cons
Did not close for holidays and were layoffs.

long hours. poor management
Photo/Track Specialist (Current Employee) –  Colorado Springs, CONovember 7, 2017
Long hours and poor management resulted in low moral and disgruntled employees. Plus, no raises for over 5 years. The benefits were great as we had BCBS. and we accrued paid time off for a certain amount of hours every pay period (every 2 weeks), based on years of service which was nice.
Pros
days off
Cons
poor management, long hours
