What advice would you give the CEO of Augusta University Health System about how to improve it?

Allow performance evaluations to go both ways. Since supervisors only evaluate subordinates it allows my supervisor to say whatever she wants about me with no remorse. If I was able to evaluate her on her performance then things might actually improve job wise.

Please consider building a pay-to-park deck that is close to the Medical Center. Green space is important, but improving employee satisfaction is also important.

There is unoccupied space that could be purchased at both ends of Laney Walker (by 15th Street and right past the Cancer Center).

There are also very old buildings (Pavilion I, Pav II, AE bldg, etc.) that are in bad shape; that would be a perfect place for an employee deck.

Or, move the Student Center. Those facilities should be moved further down near the Health Sciences section; when I walked in there a few months ago, school was in, and it was dead. Badging could move to literally any other building that has a couple extra rooms - or even go to the badging and parking office by Annex I. The bookstore could also be moved out to another HS building - after a cost-benefit analysis to determine if it's even profitable. The "restaurants" there are nothing to be desired, to be honest.

My point is, there are opportunities, if Leadership really wanted to explore this idea.

I would happily pay $10-20/month to have a close, SAFE parking space. I really disdain having to cross Walton Way and 15th Street to get to and from my car. People have been hit by cars, injured and even killed. The crossing guards are nice, but they aren't there all day.

You could charge more for first floor/premium parking, and have assigned spaces. With assigned spaces would be the opportunity for the Parking Office to write tickets to people parked in the wrong spot, which they love to do, and would in turn generate more income.

The deck would pay for itself, and then become a source of revenue. IF it is built correctly the first time, the maintenance and overhead costs should be kept to minimum as the years pass.

University Hospital has a deck right outside their main entrance; I think AUMC can provide something almost as good for its employees, too.

Please ride the shuttle bus from the parking lot, to the medical center. The bus has NO HEAT, and I think they forgot to install the shocks when they made it. Every bump in the road jostles my body, and sometimes it hurts. And it's cold. If management /Senior Leadership had to ride the buses one week a month, all of the buses would be upgraded in no time.
I am grateful that we have something, because the walk from my assigned parking lot to the main hospital is about a quarter mile - and I've worked at AUMC for 11+ years.

You need to do a thorough evaluation on the staff you allow to work in there , ESPECIALLY MANAGEMENT.
