Dispatcher (Former Employee) – Billings, MT – March 3, 2013
8 hrs of dispatching 10-15 trucks to pick up sugar beets and delivery to Western Sugar factory. Learned that there were many circumstances outside of your control -- trucks brought in for maintenance, drivers pulled off shift for drug tests, slow drivers, weather, road conditions, accidents, drivers not showing up for shift, WS plant breakdowns, maintenance, -- that affected decisions disp had to make as to where to send each truck for efficient turn around time. Hardest part of job was to decide where to send a truck based on requirements of company, when that decision affected the take home pay/bonus of the driver. A damned if you do and damned if you don't situation - of which there were many. Most enjoyable part of the job was the personalities of the drivers and their safe driving attitudes.
