What is the vacation policy like at Aultman Health Foundation? How many vacation days do you get per year?
PTO is used for vacation, holiday, and sick time. If you call off sick the first 4 days comes out of PTO, then for the 5th day you can use a sick day. As a floor nurse it's every other weekend and holiday, but even if it's your holiday off you still need to work all of your shifts. For example if you work 3 -12 hour shifts per week and Christmas is your holiday off, you are off on Christmas Eve and day, but still work 3 other shifts that week. A lot of PTO is eaten up by getting called off for low census. You get called off in 4 hour increments. So if you work a 12 hour shift you're on the hook all day to see if you're getting called in to work your scheduled shift.
Attempting to provide safe patient care while short staffed (even with minimum required staff it's really not enough to safely care for the patients), swing shift, disconnected management
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Aultman Health Foundation a better place to work?
Management should come to the floors and see how the patients and staff are effected by patient to nurse ratios and how many mistakes are made because nurses do not have enough time to care for patients and chart properly.
