Technically speaking, yes, but practically speaking it usually only happens if there is a actual role to fully. For example, engineering and support for certain products are in Boston. Even if you really want to move to Denver, it’s unliely that job would move to Denver so you would have to find a role open in denver and apply.

Give everyone a percentage of products they help develop, like a residual for the life of that version of features use. Gives move incentive for developers to let go of some of the ideas they keep back hoping for a big payday on their own. Quite a few spoke to me over the years in various settings about ideas and theories.
