It has been a Very difficult situation at Avid for the last 6 or more years. Layoffs happen at least once a year. Job security is almost nonexistent. People in technical roles are over worked. Morale is very low. The executive staff is ever changing. The financial situation is a big concern. In great need of a CEO with both business and engineering expertise. The new CEO is a salesman and probably has the best intentions. This is his first time being a CEO. This organization needs a CEO with a proven track record of turning around organizations that are in an extremely dire set of circumstances, in particular losing significant market share and financial disarray. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend at this point in time.

Depends on what department you are in. If you are in Marketing or Corporate you don't even have to come to work or simply use the "working from home" (taking a nap) excuse. For people expected to come to work you will get 5 days. Should you get ill, short-term and long-term benefits are horrible.
