Aya Travel nurse
RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) - Atlanta, GA - November 28, 2023
I worked with Aya as a travel RN for just under 2 years. Initially, I had pay issues (so did several other AYA RNs on my unit), and after about 5 weeks, it all worked out and I never had another pay issue. Contracts are ok, but the get will drop the rate on you to renew. I opted not to renew because I’m not doing the same job that I’ve been doing for less money. That’s ridiculous.

Streamlined, but corrupt
Travel RN (Former Employee) - Various hospitals - November 25, 2023
Lower pay than other staffing agencies, it is obvious that recruiters are taking cuts of out pay higher than 30%, which is deplorable. The money should be going to the nurses who perform this difficult work. Aya is very organized in their business structure however which is a positive. Maxim was the only agency that did not feel like I was getting punked. PNS might not even still be open, they went underwater after my contract. Very small staff, but knowledgeable about their work locations.

Productive and fun workplace!
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - New Haven, CT - November 12, 2023
To provide a comprehensive review of a travel nurse job, it's essential to consider several aspects. Firstly, the flexibility and opportunity to work in various healthcare settings and locations is a major advantage. Travel nursing offers a chance to experience diverse work environments, different patient populations, and various hospital systems, enriching professional skills and knowledge. Another crucial aspect is the compensation package. Travel nurses often receive competitive pay, including benefits such as housing allowances, travel reimbursements, and healthcare coverage, which can significantly enhance the overall remuneration. Additionally, assessing the level of support from the staffing agency is pivotal. A reliable agency provides consistent assistance with placements, licensing, and overall support throughout assignments, which can significantly impact job satisfaction. However, potential downsides might include the frequent need to adapt to new work environments, which might not suit everyone, and the transient nature of the job might lead to less stability in personal life. Overall, a travel nurse job offers a unique and enriching professional experience, combining adventure with a chance to diversify skills and earn competitive compensation. The decision to pursue it largely depends on one's preferences for adventure, adaptability, and career development.
