B. Braun Medical is one of the largest privately held medical companies in the world. They are over 180 years old. Because they started in Germany, it is a very European culture with the mindset that products good enough for Europe should work great in the USA. Very little understanding of the US market leaders and customer needs in this country.
I have been able to work with them to modify products, labels, and other details to compete with the market leaders who have 30 years of legacy and 70% market share in the US. The most difficult part of this is educating legal, regulatory, engineering etc. to make necessary changes to allow the products to have a chance. While most projects took much longer than expected, when completed, it was very satisfying to see the products gain market share, whether branded B. Braun or Private Label.
