Difficult environment to enjoy
Project Manager (Former Employee) – Raleigh, NC – January 20, 2018
Although Baker Roofing has been in business for more than 100 years now, the culture that has been promoted is ultimately customer driven for obvious reasons, however, as a former employee, the culture created did not realize to be very beneficial for employees. Yes, you could qualify for benefits and receive additional training, however the amount of hours required to perform the job responsibilities and duties was burdensome and hyper-exhaustive. Expect to dedicate a minimum of 60-70 hours per week in order to attempt to handle your responsibilities effectively. Do not be surprised to work even longer hours as the push was always to maximize the number of project closures to meet budget. Although "Team Work" was spoken often, it was not realized in actuality. The system instilled was individual oriented and expectations were derived similarly. If you prefer a work/personal life balance, then this company IS NOT for you. Dedication is to the company in spite of the occasional impression otherwise implied or stated.
My suggestion ... think about what will be most important for you before considering working for Baker Roofing. Working here can consume your life.
