Low pay and they tend to work harder. Not smarter. It got old real fast.

Terrible, low pay, they want you to stay late and send you home early the next day so you can get no overtime. Cheap, cheap, cheap. The pay is low, the customers are mad that you deal with. Just find a different job. The bar is set pretty low at the BBC. It's not hard to find something better.

My "interview" process at Balfour Beatty was extremely unprofessional. I applied for a Media Relations Manager position online. A couple weeks later I received a email from one of their recruiters asking about my availability to interview. I immediately responded back with a series of days / times. However, I never heard anything back. Even after following up a couple of times over the next week it was complete radio silence. No interview, no explanation, no rejection response of any kind. It was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Why bother reaching out in the first place if you're not going to follow through? Even an automated rejection letter to close the loop would have been sufficient. Based on that experience I really can't see myself ever applying with them again.

Embarrassing because it's such a low paying company

Good, strong company with good people at the helm.

The “raise” is typically a Cost of Living increase for hourly employees. Any manager who tries to tell you it’s merit-based is lying.
