Pros: Remote work environment, mission-driven work, respectful and professional culture. Lots of focus on professional development.Cons: Founder and president has ties to the Koch brothers, EIC and most desk editors and other senior staff have ties to conservative think tanks or lobby groups, or are related to the president herself. They refuse to publicly acknowledge their donors but if you do some digging you can find some tax records online. In the lower ranks it was more diversified, however occasionally writers would receive direct feedback from the president or EIC and there were times it felt strongly partisan.

Elitist country club culture

You get to work from home and set your own hours but be prepared that the amount of work given will require you to work much more than 40 hrs to get it done on top of the numerous meetings and training sessions they hold. Basically, you’re a slave to slack and don’t dare utter any words or display any behavior that would suggest you are anything but conservative otherwise your work may suddenly be sabotaged in some “mysterious” ways. Helps to be white too if you want to work here as the company is all white .
