I worked here for 1.5 years and in that time I was treated so horribly. I was always singled out. One instance was right after I started, not even fully done with my training, I got written up because a client complained that "the girl with brown hair and a nose ring", which was most of the staff at that location, was rude during a surgery discharge. I was not even at the point of taking rooms by myself yet and had never done a surgery discharge before. I tried to explain this to my manager but of course they didn't listen. Later I found out who it was and it came out that I was written up for said occurrence because the girl who did it and the manager were friends. On many occasions that other girls on the staff would talk about everyone going out after work but get quiet when I came around. I decided to transfer locations thinking ii just got a bad hospital and even at my new location I WAS TREATED HORRIBLY. One of my doctors went as far as saying "let me explain this to you so a child could understand it" simply because I asked her to teach me how to calculate a drug dose because I was genuinely interested in learning all that I could. I was paid a very low wage and my manager would even give me very low part time hours for 4 or 5 weeks in a row with only 1 week after that as full time to keep me at my full time status without having to pay me like I was full time. They never truly cared about the animals and on many occasions I saw very sick pets turned away with no treatment because the owner could not afford the hundreds or thousands of dollars in treatment. Even when the owner said that they would pay what they could they were turned away. This company is all about numbers and if you go to a hospital where people have already picked their friends you will be considered the dog they can do anything to. Many times we closed at 7 but I would not get out until 9 or even on a couple of occasions 11 at night due to that fact that no one would do anything on the afternoon or closing lost and leave me with such a huge mess that it took me hours. I finally got fed up and left to work at a private clinic and am treated s much better. It is very family oriented and I get paid what I believe I have earned. I got my full time hours even with my work schedule and they are very flexible and understanding when I am sick or having something I have to deal with outside of work. DO NOT WORK FOR BANFIELD THEY WILL RUIN YOU AND TEAR YOU DOWN!!!

Manager cares about numbers, numbers, numbers. Come to find out later that is because she gets a nice bonus a few times a year because of those numbers. Overbooked and understaffed daily. Manager becomes irritated and emotionally about work things easily. One Doctor is all about her and what everyone can do to make her life easier while she is working.

My specific location was very unwelcoming. The team was very clique-y and always gossiping about each other. The whole team was constantly overworked. Doctors appeared to get plenty of additional compensation- techs/cscs always seemed easily replaceable and uncared for.

Every hospital is different but most commonly full of drama, gossip, and you're either welcome to their team or your not.

Extremely hostile. I worked for them as a veterinarian for 4 years. They only care about money, and treat their veterinarians horribly.

Family oriented and friendly environment. A lot of learning and advancement opportunities. The busier hospitals will provide the best opportunities. Very caring doctors and management.

Very very hostile work environment. Management tolerates hostility. If you get insulted and you follow the policy of reporting the incident, expect to be bullied even more and the management will stand there watching. It'seems a disgrace to the profession.
