BOA provides good training and has a good management system. BOA provides you the right channel to develop yourself. But has a stressful working environment. BoA provides good benefits.

Lead Cash Service Rep - Research Associate (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 20, 2019
I enjoyed my time with Bank of America. The work was easy and came with low percentage based annual raises. There was quarterly spirit celebrations with games for all employees and recognition rewards for productive employees. There was also charity events like bowling that was optional. It was a fun place to work.
Pros
Good benefits, 401k matching, profit sharing (year end bonus)
Cons
Few opportunities for advancement

VP Project Consultant/BA (Former Employee) –  East Hartford, CTSeptember 20, 2019
BOA was a great place to work until they decided to get rid of their work from home benefit. They eliminated that benefit and unless you agreed to relocate at your own expense you were without a job. A lot of talent was lost.

Computer/Tape Operator (Former Employee) –  Richardson, TXSeptember 20, 2019
With all the cutbacks it is not a good place to work. The management went from excellent to poor. When you have a manager who tells people to "sweep" a physical attack on someone under the rug it says a lot.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Poor management, lack of empathy and cutbacks

Claims Analyst II (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLSeptember 20, 2019
Fast paced environment with good benefits. BOA provides a diverse working culture and opportunity for growth. The most challenging part of working or BOA claims is assist customers with their denied claims, but with empathy, care and genuine concern and understanding can make a difference.

Senior Teller/Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  New JerseySeptember 19, 2019
The culture of the job is to sell cross-sell and upsell with specific requirements to speak to clientele and goals to meet. There's lots of pressure to meet your goals
Pros
Consistent pay decent benefits
Cons
Pressure for selling and upselling

Unprofessional
Production Services Senior Technologist (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCSeptember 18, 2019
Worked in a project for a production team and the experience was the worst in my professional life. Management team was never on the same page, there was no clear instructions of what was required to do on daily basis, one particular supervisor love to take credits for things she didn't do. Overall it was bad and I will never want to work at this place ever.

Very poor and dismissive. It is not an organization for a person with family.
Fraud Analyst (Former Employee) –  Wilmington, DESeptember 18, 2019
Very poor and dismissive management. It is not an organization for a person with family; since there is no flexibility for family time off and/or accommodating for unexpected happenings.

Sales Service Specialist (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCSeptember 18, 2019
I worked there for 16yrs. I started out as a Bank Teller and my last position was as a Sales Service Specialist(SSS). Bank of America is a very Customer Service and Sales Driven Company. The training I received there was top notch. You have to be able to adapt to change quickly due to customer climate change.
Pros
Excellent Training
Cons
You need to be a Team player, self motvated to work with anyone and everyone.

Enjoyed all employees I worked with for almost 15 years. Career advancement is very possible with training is provided. Work could be hectic but that made it more fun.

Sr. Business Control Specialist- Risk and Controls (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCSeptember 18, 2019
The workflow at the bank is steady. There is a lot of rework to gain a sense of security which clogs productivity.
There are lots of opportunities to build your network and see what the next steps are in your career progression.

Small Business Consultant - AVP (Current Employee) –  Huntersville, NCSeptember 18, 2019
Bank of America is a good company. You have good job security and goals are reasonable. Work life balance is good and benefits are nice as well. It is typical corporate.

Job Culture
In a nutshell
lending officer (Current Employee) –  Plano, TXSeptember 17, 2019
The culture is the worst. They do not offer ramp up for new employees which is why people turn them down. The pay is the lowest in the industry and the recruiter admitted they lie about employees making six figures to get you to work for them. They have no proof of a six figure salary for more than 2 employees from the last 2 years with basis point decreasing quarterly. More tenured people are leaving the company and until they make changes, the turnover will continue to increase. Top performers are finally realizing their worth.

EA (Current Employee) –  NCSeptember 16, 2019
For a company that brands itself as diverse, their diversity does not include working with people with medical needs. The overall company culture needs to be redirected and refined.
