Animal Care Attendant in Baltimore, MD

Working here is the best! Co workers and management are usually easy to work with. Many people come back as volunteers or get promoted to other positions still in the shelter. Free snacks and lunches and great volunteers who help out every day make the job a lot easier. Mgmt is easy to talk to if you ever have any issues

After working with animals in multiple areas, my job here is by far my favorite. Such a fulfilling job where you know you are actually making a difference. The work culture is the most diverse I have seen. Coworkers are welcoming and fun, management is very approachable and eager to hear concerns/questions. The hardest part of the job is seeing animals in tough situtations, but that goes hand-in-hand with the most enjoyable part which is giving them a new beginning. Pay is not high (if you are expecting more- don't work at a nonprofit) but they make up for it with good benefits and PTO for full-time employees. I love it here.
Kennel Attendant in 2490 Giles rd.

Worst decision of my life was to apply here. They don’t pay enough for all the work that they expect us to do. They all love to look down on people. Management is trash and don’t care especially kennel manager. They play favorites and don’t help their staff and then talk about their staff with other employees. If you think I’m joking go see for yourself. Don’t work here. So glad I left.

Amazing staff and coworkers. Not paid nearly enough for the job. There is no "real money" in Animal Welfare. You work there for the cause, not the money. Best job.

BARCS has the ability to be a great place. However the management there is horrible. They are all good friends and because of this, there is "ZERO" level of confidentiality or professionalism and that is from the highest level of management down. They create positions for their favorites, but don't promote qualified current employees The euthanasia rate is better than was, but it still needs a lot of improvement.
