If you like customers then this is the job for you; however, if you like paying your bills then maybe not. Its an easy job it just does not pay and there is no room for advancement even as a manager.
Bookseller in Multiple Stores in California

With a new structure in place, if you can manage to advance to one of the few leadership positions, you may be paid well - if not, expect minimum wage and some not-great hours. Since the new CEO, the business has very much turned away from encouraging booksellers to share knowledge and passion about books. Such a shame. But hey, if you know nothing about books and love minimum wage retail, this is the place for you!

Interview Questions

I went for the barista job today. The first questions was what books are you reading? Then if I had a YouTube channel, what would it be about? Name a time when you had to take a different approach with a customer, which confused me lol what would you do if was slow? Why should I pick you?

They asked me why I wanted to work there. What situations have you been in where there was a disagreement, how did you solve the disagreement. If you were given a responsibility that you weren't prepared for how would you handle it?

Shared on April 28, 2018

Very simple interview. Asked the basic questions, and did a background check.
