No not really. The job itself is pretty simple but you would have to show that you have the skills to talk to customers and know how to work the register (they will teach you briefly). Volunteer experience and drive is more than enough.

None unless you're full time, which is only management (at least at most locations.) There is an option for 401k. Official part time does get pto vacation, though keep in mind most employees are not actually considered part time, but seasonal or temp. They do not get vacation.

It probably just depends on the management because in my experience it is extremely laid back. Physically usually easy, during times of getting book shipments in or sending them back it is more physical...unloading boxes, carrying books, reaching or bending to put on shelf, etc. For send backs, packing boxes full of books. But that's only a couple weeks out of the year, the rest of the time is physically easy.
