CFAN Cell Operator (Former Employee) – Lansing, MI – December 21, 2018
Yes it is very hard to advance at Barnes, however it is offset by the people you work with. There is that standard "good ol boy" standard, but they've done well trying to squish that. I loved working there, just try your best to stay out of quality.
Welder (Former Employee) – West Chester – September 28, 2018
One of the worst companies I’ve ever worked for. New hr lady who only hires minorities doesn’t care at all about experience. 1 and 2% raises. Health care is ridiculous expensive family plan cost me $260 every two weeks. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.
CNC Machinist Setup/Operator (Current Employee) – Corry, PA – February 5, 2018
This company is a good company to work for. Management is understanding when it comes to family and health issues. When you are on probation for 90 days you cannot miss any work and you have to work whatever hours they ask you to. Once you are finished with your probation it’s a lot more relaxed. When you are on probation keep your head down, follow any directions from management, and make sure you are doing your job. I’ve seen people let go for not taking the trash out during their probation or talking down to a union employee. Once you’re off of probation the atmosphere is much lighter and you can actually breathe easier.
