If clients cancel you lose the hours and money, being scheduled for 50 hours a week not including drive time, creates high turn over rates and disappointing paychecks due to client inconsistencies. You are often made to feel guilty when taking vacation or sick time, however client families are able to take vacation and get sick and you are left with the short end of the stick. CEO cares about his profit more than his employees.

I am very disappointed in the company. I came in this workplace with good intentions and high hopes to work in a place that was rewarding. However, after being at this company for about a year now I can say that I have never felt so unappreciated in a workplace before. You are not fairly compensated for the driving that you are doing every day, you have long (unpaid) time between your clients so your day is 8am-6pm (10 hours) but you’re only getting paid MAYBE 7 hours. Clients cancel all the time but if you try to ask for sick time or pto it is YOUR responsibility to find someone to cover, and the ceo makes you feel like you’re doing something wrong for being sick. You also are in charge of communicating to ceo, manager, and families if something comes up. Oh, and things will change every week. The CEO is also very money hungry and not all interested in his employees well being.

An environment that had cliques with employees, talking behind other employees backs. Management did not follow through with advanced training, to serve the needs of young clints needed to buy or creatively mix supplies to make them age-appropriate.

Great place to work and super helpful management. Always helping and answering questions. Super supportive staff that wants you to succeed. Happy I work for this company.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in Lacey, WA

I have enjoyed working for Basics NW and am very happy here in comparison to another ABA company I worked at before. I had a year of experience as an behavior technician, and was an RBT when hired, and was offered a $4 increase from what my original company was paying per hour. Most companies in the area also do not hire RBTs full-time. The company is also a lot more caring when it comes to creating a work-life balance. We do not work past 6pm, do not work weekends, and have all federal holidays off if we wish. My supervisors are all amazing to work with.
