BEPC Not Bad but Could be Better
MECHANICAL ENGINEER II (Current Employee) – Wheatland, WY – February 9, 2018
At Laramie River Station the culture is strange. It is as if there is not direction from supervision or management. It is very discombobulated due to the lack of direction. Management is afraid to make decisions, difficult to advance if you don't "put in your time." The actual work is good, and can be extremely challenging. Work culture is very lax. One could get away with not doing much, which is not interesting or challenging to me. Engineers are treated poorly at the plants. Highest paid position are the planners, whom ask engineers how to do things. Hard to get promoted or advance if you work at one of the plants. The company caters to their headquarters personnel. The pay and benefits aren't bad but it could be much better, after realizing the amount of responsibility for each position.
Interesting work, Free lunches occasionaly
Compensation, Lack of advancement
