I wish I would have never worked there
Utilities Operator/Maintainer (Former Employee) - Kansas City, MO - June 8, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Competitive pay and good benefits What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Drama that is almost pushed by management. Culture is full of back stabbing and tattling to try and make it up the ranks What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very back stabbing. Blame game all the time. They say safety is first, until the safety cost them too much money What is a typical day like for you at the company? morning meeting. Get assigned your work for the day. By the time you make it accross the street to the plant. All new work orders. Very disorganized.

Interestingly bad
North America Global Trade & Compliance Analyst (Former Employee) - Creve Coeur, MO - June 5, 2023
Work life balance is non existent. A lot of the current employees are from Monsanto and thus, a lot of bad apples got carried over. Work load is not bad but Managers do not care about you at all.

Decent job with great benefits
Assembler (Former Employee) - Saxonburg, PA - June 5, 2023
Sometimes the lack of communication could be an issue but otherwise the job is what it says it is. Coworkers and management are fairly dependable and the benefits are wildly good.

Good starting place
Lab Technician (Former Employee) - Woodland, CA - June 2, 2023
It was a good start up for me. Worked in two different departments and in my experience, the teams I worked with were great actually. I gained experience during my time, but there wasn't a lot of room for growth.

great work-life balance
Statistician (Former Employee) - St. Louis, MO - May 23, 2023
great work-life balance and benefit. A good firm and very decent pay at St. Louis Area. A lot of opportunities to learn and make contribution. Just the lawsuits could be a potential concern, but not matter much for regular stuff.

Jobs at Bayer
Good pay and benefits
Professional (Current Employee) - Pittsburgh, PA - May 17, 2023
The pay and benefits are good. Management has its ups and downs like everywhere else. Typical days at work are often managing unexpected and undesired occurrences. The most enjoyable part is the people.

Long-standing overall good company to work for
Sr. Analyst IT, Continuous Operations (Former Employee) - Pittsburgh, PA - May 12, 2023
I greatly enjoyed my time working at Bayer and was given many opportunities to advance. Overall the company is doing good work, provides the tools and equipment needed to succeed and has good overall vision. However, management is sorely lacking the ability to motivate and direct the grunts, many chronic process issues are left alone, and the desire to reorganize is absurd. In my 5 years at Bayer I had 3 different managers and in the end they shuttered my site in favor of a company they had just acquired. Decades of company knowledge walked out the door in favor of fast-promoters who held on to the sinking ship at the acquisition.
Pros
Established global employer, good culture, good vision
Cons
Reorganizing almost annually, constant shiny object syndrome, chronic process issues

Monsanto was awesome, Bayer messed that up
IT Help Desk Associate (Former Employee) - Muscatine, IA - May 10, 2023
When i started out working at Monsanto, life was great. i got a long with everyone, got paid more than fairly, encouraged to take a lot of time off, sick time was not charged, 401k was amazing, and then Bayer (German company) bought out Monsanto, and everything went to junk, and my job was outsourced, and i was forced to take a 30% pay cut to do the same job, as a contract worker. Bayer no longer cares about their employees, but they still pay full time employees well, and there is a lot of OT that can be worked as hourly or SNE employees.

Plant Janitor
Greenhouse Manager (Former Employee) - Chesterfield, MO - May 9, 2023
A steady job, good entry level work experience, and a great company to work for. Coworkers are okay. The day to day work feels isolating. You can only learn so much without being hired on full time. Most of your day is spent cleaning greenhouses and disposing of plants.

Good company
Data Entry (Former Employee) - St. Louis, MO - May 4, 2023
Firstly, I must say that the work environment at Bayer is excellent. The company culture is welcoming, and everyone is friendly and supportive. My colleagues and supervisors were always willing to lend a hand or provide guidance whenever I needed it. As a data entry specialist, my job mainly involved inputting data into the company's system accurately and efficiently. While this may sound repetitive, the company provided me with the necessary training and resources to make the job easier and more manageable. The work was not monotonous, and there were always new projects and tasks to work on, which kept me engaged. One of the most significant advantages of working at Bayer is the competitive salary and benefits package. The company compensates its employees well and provides comprehensive health insurance, paid vacation days, and retirement benefits. Another significant advantage of working at Bayer is the work-life balance. The company encourages its employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance and offers flexible schedules and work arrangements, such as work from home options. Overall, I enjoyed my time working at Bayer as a data entry specialist in St. Louis. The company culture, supportive colleagues, and competitive compensation and benefits package make it a great place to work. If you're looking for a job in data entry, I would highly recommend considering Bayer in St. Louis.

Big Company
Process Engineering Intern (Former Employee) - Berkeley, CA - April 29, 2023
Big company to learn new things systematically. However, the site is focused more on manufacturing rather than new developments, so if you're interested in working with cutting edge technology you may have less exposure here.

Unfair, Discriminating, uncomfortable work environment
Leadership Team Member (Current Employee) - Saxonburg, PA - April 28, 2023
Bayer does not give the truly hard and honest workers what they deserve. They are drawn to the rude and lazy. They fast- track those who don't deserve it and try to purposely push the best ones out. This is for fear of losing their position or disrupting their little cliques. It is very petty and childish there like being in elementary school. It feels like a joke and no one cares about the morale anymore.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Long hours, having to work every other weekend the entire weekend through, no personal balance, extremely depressing

Wide Range of Opportuntities
Operations Lead (Current Employee) - United States - April 27, 2023
Being a large company there is a wide range of opportunities, but a lot of bureaucracy, standard pay and standard benefits. Just know that depending on what country you work in will depend on how tolerant leaders are of individuals who are not atheists.

Great company culture, but not much room for growth as a contractor
Scientist (Former Employee) - Morristown, NJ - April 26, 2023
Worked at Bayer in Morristown for 1.5 years as a project-based contractor. While the culture was great, there was not much room for growth as a contractor. I was mainly situated to work on the project I was recruited for.
