Health Care Specialist in San Rafael, CA

Bottom line is the bottom line. Unhappy staff, kept afloat only because staff is united in unhappiness. Unorganized, but at least they give opportunity to obtain promotion./
Assistant Director of Admissions in 718 4th Street San Rafael CA

Lets be honest: this is a tough field, working with a dual-diagnosis population can be incredibly reward and incredibly stressful. The main defining factor in whether you're going to enjoy this job or not is your personal level of passion and commitment. If you're just looking to punch the clock - go elsewhere. This job will challenge you and help you grow in tremendous ways if you let it. But it will ask a lot of you. The work is fast-paced and detail oriented. There are lot of nuts and bolts and there can be a lot on the line for patients and families so it demands a level of professionalism, problem solving ability, and mental quickness. But even though it asks a lot it gives a lot in return. Bayside has a great reputation in the treatment community and you're working along side some of the best, brightest, and most passionate people around. You will learn more than you ever wanted to know about addiction, recovery, treatment, insurance, and a myriad of other areas. You'll gain experience, connections, and references that will serve you for years AND you get to help a lot of people in the process. I've been at Bayside for 5 years and it has been constantly evolving over that time. They are constantly trying to innovate and improve. Again, if you're the sort of person that just wants to learn a job and then do it steadily day in and day out, this is not the place for you. But if you are excited by the prospect of a company that will support your growth, challenge you, evolve along with you, and welcome your feedback - this is a place for you!
Admissions Counselor in San Rafael, CA

There is never a dull moment at Bayside. Within admissions you are the first contact with clients and often have to work with them while they are under the influence of substances. While helping this population receive top quality treatment fulfills one's purpose, this population also creates a lot of room for having to problem solve and exercise your sense of humor on the job, as things can get emotionally heavy at times. I can rely on my team for both workload and personal support within this role. The over all culture at Bayside is both competent and playful. The amenities available to us outside of our work hours help employees keep up their self-care routine.
Detox Specialist in San Rafael, CA

The nursing department and and the whole corporation is extremely toxic. Patient care has declined because the corporation only cares about revenue. The nurse managers and nurses quit because this place is so toxic. This company will work you like a dog and when you need a day off they will deny you. The staff gossip about each other and patients and will treat you so badly until one day you decide your sick of beiing miserable and quit. The toxic people stay there because they feed off of each other. The nursing pay is good but the work is way to much. Paper MARS, nurse to patient ratio is not safe and patients are not well cared for in this place.
Admissions Counselor in San Rafael, CA

I have worked as an Admissions Counselor/UR Specialist for almost 3 years now. My job has challenged me, frustrated me, and molded me into a much better version of myself than when I started. It’s not easy work, but it is incredibly gratifying to see the clients and families we help have positive experiences. I would recommend this position to anyone who likes a challenge, learns quickly, and has great attention to detail.
