Community Hospital, probably better for locally based employees
Outpatient Coding Specialist (ED) (Current Employee) – Beaufort, SC – July 26, 2017
Several very knowledgeable seasoned coders to help you figure out the unusual (for ED) stuff. Steady manageable workload for ED coding, no real surprises on a day-to-day basis except for frequency of coding staff laying out "sick", but the group pitches in and gets the job done. If you are not from Beaufort, or don't live there, relationships can be a bit difficult.
Like all small hospitals, there is always the financial struggle to deal with, small pay increases and not great IS support. Lots of top tier management changes in the last year or so, seems they keep adding new senior level management positions while not replacing or eliminating mid-level or section managers.
