Bechtel is a good place to work. They expect advanced skills when you get hired. Most people are great to work with. Although It does not take a genious to figure out they need to work on their HR department. They will leave you high and dry when you have important issues with both your on-boarding and your off-boarding.
I was laid off and replaced with three people who had little experience ( I had 36 years) but were willing to work for rediculously lower wages. Also, the replacements were all "yes" men (and women).I didn't want to leave, but the company I hired in with no longer exists: the have lost their moral compass. It was best considering the person I had to work under.
-Weak mid-level management and supervision. I worked directly with the project management team at my previous project as well as a few of the functional managers and occasional board member. I tried to help my new project in my new role for 2 years. The expression "responsibiilty without authority" comes to mind. I have tried very hard to right this ship but some people do not understand, are unwilling to devote the time to understand, and are unwilling to delegate to any of the 2 dozen people in their department who could have performed.
-Lack of project camraderie.
-More interesting opportunities, shorter commute, better technical training opportunities
-Pay not at market rate.
Bechtel is a good company but bad people there inside , they was taken out Laid of , obligatory personal reducción but this take me for surprise I don’t want to leaveI I I think that I was doing a good job for more 2 years ,however I would gladly go back if there another protect!!

Fired on trumped up charges
Laid off after 15+ years, during which I received only glowing reviews and worked like a machine (which ended up having a negative effect on my health). Was dropped like a hot stone once I couldn't be their machine anymore - no thanks, no severance, no extension of benefits, no assistance with finding other work. Only emphasis on confidentiality and other obligations on paperwork that was signed 15+ years ago that apparently I should have memorized word for word at the time.
Was laid off after 9 yrs no support like you never worked for the company
Family emergency/illness. However, Bechtel was a great place to work for.
Bechtel has laid off hundreds of people in the last year. No work.
