Productive fun

Supervisors pretty cool. 7-530 mon-thur 8 Friday 8 Saturdays if we work. Sometimes 10 Friday ND Saturday. 48hr schedule right now. Easy to take a day off if needed

Great pay lousy oppotunity unless you are an indian

Just was stressful, American support group kept getting cut and replaced by the India support. Until just after Covid they basically laid of the remaining American IT and replaced with an Overnight Indian IT shift.

Great Experience

Bechtel is an international contractor. I received great exposure to diverse coworkers and international purchasing.If I could have worked remotely when my time at the Monaca plant was up, I would have never left Bechtel.

Great place to work

I had an outstanding experience working at this organization. It provided an excellent working environment with a highly supportive team. The opportunity to learn new skills and gain new knowledge was constantly present, and I took advantage of it. The management was not only professional and competent but also approachable, and their guidance was always constructive. I am grateful for the chance to work with such a great team, and I feel that the experience has positively impacted my career growth.

What is the best part of working at the company?I went to work for Bechtel and planned to only work for Bechtel for one year. I ended my career with Bechtel after almost 30 years, of working for the best world class company in the construction business. Bechtel prides itself in providing project solutions to projects that are deemed not doable by most other companies. If you are willing to work hard, make commitments and strive to do the best you can, you will not find a better company to work for. Bechtel provides unlimited chances for advancement and in my years with Bechtel I never meet anyone who was unhappy with their experience there.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?In the construction business you are constantly working yourself out of a job, so you need to work very hard to ensure that you have additional opportunities for additional jobs/positions.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?The work environment varied from each of the company offices. All of the environments were business focused.

LONG hours, They do not mention, "Work / Life Balance" during the hiring process for a reason

If you take the plunge and chase the all mighty dollar, ask a LOT of questions and make sure your experience aligns with expectations. Bechtel is very different, very siloed, navigating within their structure takes time to pick up. Make sure there is an understanding of that learning curve timeline before you join. Also make sure you are willing to work very long hours, some weekends, willing to be tethered to your cell phone for email and / or your laptop. The pay is good but you might as well have a tattoo that says, "Property of Bechtel! If found wondering, please return to (insert home office address)". If you want a healthy work / life balance, I do not recommend Bechtel, I'd say run the other direction.

Workplace culture

People are generally open to help with anything you might be struggling with, whether a challenging assignment or novel problems encountered on-site. You can always find someone within the company willing to assist, and there is a real sense of community. However, getting promoted or switching roles can take a lot of time and a lot of effort to navigate. It depends on who you know and who is sponsoring you. In general, work life balance is great however it depends on what role you have or what project you are working on.
