Clinique Beauty Consultant in Snellville, GA
Okay, but still needs some improvements.
I actually like Belk, but there are some improvements that need to be made. With the company of Belk and Clinique, the pay is very low to me, because we put in so much work for us to be paid very little return.
Sales Team Manager in Savannah, GA
Productive and family oriented
Belk associates and Management team had relentless customer service. As a manager, we valued our employees and helped them to achieve their goals. Team used grassroot projects to give back to the community and rewarded and recognized associates for achieving goals.
Terrible experience after 23 years
I spent over one yhird of my life working for this company and after 23 years they laid me off. This is a hit below the belt as i feel it. Then after telling me they were laying off all full timers they turned around and placed an add in i deed for full time dock positions. This company has no respect for the aged associates the way i see it. The benefit package was a joke $16,000.00 for 23 years of dedicated commitment.
Sales Associate in Tuscaloosa, AL
Fun workplace, friendly management, incentives to grow in sales.
Good experience when I worked their in 2017-2018. Would like to maybe return to work there in the future. I worked in Men's Sportwear and Shoes. Great product(s) to sell, because Belk carries all the leading brands. Got to know my co-workers as sales professionals, customer always came first and store in Tuscaloosa was well managed. Managers were friendly and willing to help you if you had questions, problems, etc.
Sales Associate in Bowling Green, KY
You're not that desperate...
Working for belk gave me experience, but overall, it wasn't pleasant. The store was often messy. The merchandising, or lack thereof, was awful. You were either micromanaged by the MTM (who was extremely rude and never actually did her job) or not managed at all. Their was a lot of favoritism and fratenizing between certain managers and regular associates. HR was not discreet. Your personal business was the store's business. I'm not sure why this place is still open.

Customer is always right
The work culture here was definitely friendly. The distribution of tasks is uneven depending on the department. I’ve experienced working in multiple different locations, all are not equal or up to the same standards. Managers can be hardworking, over worked or they can be entitled heel clackers hanging out in the offices. Overall, my experience was one of kind people as coworkers and a customer base, who truly enjoyed coming in to shop with us.
