My first management position stayed for over 17 years not typical of art directors.
What I learned; Advertising agency environment, tight deadlines, spending all night comping new ad campaigns for client presentations, overseeing staff and freelancers, vendors, department budgets, printing estimates, trade show display designs, picking display hardware, - more ... working with copywriters, account reps.
