First, I don't like that they cap you at 45 minute sessions because they claim to pay for per hour but it's literally per the minutes you work. So working a 50 hour week means you'll only get paid 40 hours instead and the pay isn't even consistent. Meaning every 5 hour increments are paid at a different rate (the more you work, the higher the 5 hour increments are paid out at). So that means if you do work all 50 hours, it's not all getting paid at $70 an hour. I will give credit to them that they do well with providing clients fairly quick when requested and your hours are super flexible. You can literally change them day to day or week to week. Also, there are no formal notes attached, unless you're required by your board to keep track of them on your own side. Which can be great, but realistically notes are needed. I do enjoy my clients though.

The position was rewarding, only thing I didn’t like was the high turnover of clients without warning or reason. The pay is good, but definitely could be higher in private practice

I like the structure and format of platform. The pay and work load is less than desirable. To make a decent living you have to work long hours and no work/life balance. They don't pay you for a counselor hour but there is no way to get the desired hours without working weekends and late nights. They falsely advertise about what you make an hour in my opinion. Have met some great clients and helped a lot of people around the world.

You can be as busy as you would like to be, you can have a full caseload in a matter of days. Working from home is a big plus. The clients have been great, very motivated. Infrequent no shows.

I love my job! No boss! No coworkers! I was making about $12,000 a month. You must follow up with your clients when prompted even if they don't need it or you will not get any more referrals.

Interview Questions

The interview is an opportunity for you to meet with a member of the BetterHelp team over video, and to gain hands-on practice using the BetterHelp platform. You will be required to initiate a video session, and we are looking to verify your ID, your State License, and that you are conducting the video session from a HIPAA-compliant environment. From there, we'll conduct a short review of your BetterHelp profile to make sure you're in good shape, go over what you can expect during your first week on the platform, and then we'll open it up to any questions that you might have for us!

Nothing, just email requesting I provide a more “robust” answer to the Case Study, which was required to continue position discussion. No thank you. Poor customer service with no direction.

The 10-15 minute interview is more to confirm your expertise and to make sure that you are who you are, and your license is valid and in good standing. It was not like a traditional interview where the interviewer asks you why you are interested in the position, or what you see yourself bringing to the team.
