RN (Former Employee) – Spotsylvania, VA – May 22, 2018
For spotsylvania location: Began as a pleasant place to work , after a year went downhill. High turnover, poor management, poor communication among management to employees, Management not a fan of staff that have a voice, very clickish within the facility, lacks real time communication with concerns. Un-professional. Company lacks ability to hear there staffs concerns without being judgemental and retaliation. Would not reccomend for any rn.
The ashland location: pleasant environment and great teamwork
Poor management, Poor communication, High turnover
Great concept with the potential to be a good company but is failing due to poor management and employee disregard.
Healthcare worker (Current Employee) – Fredericksburg, VA – June 30, 2019
Every single location in this company has employee retention rate issues, and therefore overworked staff. Often times staff is bribed to work copious amounts of overtime, or simply left with no choice but forced into overtime shifts. Overall under appreciation for staff. Employees are often disregarded during periods of inclement weather and when the clinic has to close due to flooding or power outages. Employees are expected to remain on call during these periods, and to show back up to work at the drop of a message, but are unpaid for their on call time. Pizza is often given as a way to say “thanks” at all locations, because that’s what we all want in a work place.
Employee opinion is never taken into consideration and decisions are done at the management discretion only.
Employees always work 12 hr shifts, which is typical for healthcare, but a half hour unpaid lunch break is taken out daily. However, employees are not allowed to leave the site, and if there are patients in the clinic all day, you’re essentially being unpaid for 30 minutes regardless.
Benefits are decent. However, though PTO is awarded, its impossible to use any PTO due to short staffing. PTO cannot be taken on top of your regularly week schedule to prevent having to pay out in overtime, so employees often lose DOZENS of hours in PTO per year, and they refuse to simply pay it out.
Management also changes as common as staff... four site managers in a single year of employment, and two COOs.
Patients always rave about how clean the facility is and how nice/friendly the staff is, but thismore... will quickly change. Unhappy staff is not productive staff.less
Benefits, except PTO, are decent
Management, schedules, employees are treated poorly
PCT (Patient Care Technician) (Former Employee) – Colonial Heights, VA – May 11, 2019
I loved the coworkers but working for BetterMed was horrible. Horrible management. New management doesn’t even know how to handle their job. Don’t work here. There are better places to work. They just care about patients money and not their well being.
