Not For Everyone
Radiologic Technologist (Former Employee) –  MidwestMay 10, 2019
-work independently traveling to nursing homes, assisted living, and jails to do portable xrays and ekgs.
-preformed all views and anatomy
-depending on location and territory, hours can be extremely long, on call, weekends and holidays, no matter the weather.
-you are responsible for your vehicle and equipment maintenance no matter if it is malfunctioning, down, broken, updating.
-travel distance between sites can be over 2 hours one way
-no paid maternity leave of any sort
-felt like when I was off, I was still being contacted on work phone
-could be called out to any location anytime of day or night
- vehicles are not four wheel drive, so rural areas in certain weather are unsafe
- responsible for uploading all paperwork
- responsible for communicating with facilities (eta, make sure orders are correct, patient status)
Pros
Independence, work phone, company vehicle, gas card, and credit card for work expenses
Cons
Hours, driving distance, always under staffed, communication from cooperate to technologist didn’t flow, technologist under appreciated

Family owned business and always tries to take care of there employees. Quick paced, not a place for lazy people. Cases are assigned in morning and you have to complete them within an allotted time limit.

Was always fair and good to me. Willing to listen to the employees and take what they say into consideration. They put the welfare of the patients first as well.

DISPATCHER (Former Employee) –  Creve Coeur, MOApril 4, 2018
I loved my time at this job. It was fun, easy going and technicians were awesome. I rarely saw management, but when I did they were always very nice and accommodating. I learned a lot in those few years about how to read x-ray results and give that information over to the ordering physicians.
Pros
Nice and relaxing work place

Great family owned business
dispatcher (Current Employee) –  based in st louis moJanuary 26, 2018
This company is owned by good people and the majority of the staff are kind and considerate people. It is a young company so there is room for growth, the management is reliable when it comes to pay and benefits, and I have seen management bend over backwards to work with and help employees who have had issues such as adoption fees, long term illnesses, and financial hardships. I like working here and plan to stay. The pay is not as competitive as it should be, but the benefits of being able to work from home when sick and the kindness of fellow employees makes the lower pay acceptable for now.
Pros
paid holidays nice culture good people reliable long term management
Cons
face paced, pay could be more in pace w competitors, multitaking, odd hours, crabby clients at times

Not a tech friendly company.
Technician (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MOOctober 29, 2017
Most of the job is driving from place to place to do exams. You will be expected to drive in all kinds of situations (night, rain, snow).
Most of your patients will be in a nursing home setting. There are some prisons. There is also a growing trend to do patients in their private homes.
You will be exposed often to complete exams. 2 view ap/lat portable chest x-rays are protocol, so you will have to hold the cassette to get the lateral view since BTX provides no equipment or training to acquire the lateral view without exposing yourself or another.
BTX focuses on fast turn around times for exams so there is a lot of pressure to get your exams done very quickly. Stat exams have a 2 hour turn around time...even on homes that have 1 1/2 hour drive times. Stat CXR's for a "cough" are normal.
BTX pays on a "per patient" foundation. You will be paid a set amount per each patient you do. It doesn't matter if you do a 3 view hand on a patient or a body gram (bilat hips, femurs, tib/fib, humerus) the pay is based just on the number of patients, not the amount of exams on that patient. You will be able to see how many patients your co-workers are doing and if you are not getting the equal amount of patients on your work load, feelings of unfairness and resentment are created. There are always other techs complaining about how many patients someone else got while they didn't get enough. Not a good culture for teamwork.
Opportunities for advancement are slim. There is no opportunity for cross-training to other modalities. The only opportunity
more... for advancement is into management.  less
Pros
no BE's or C-arm work.
Cons
Stress, frequently not off on time, no opportunity to advance your skills as a tech.

Office Assistant/Editor (Former Employee) –  Lenexa, KSApril 1, 2017
This was a great company with many talents. It is a small office, and sometimes the group was unwilling to learn or train new hires, but overall the company was cozy.

Wonderful place to work
Office Assistant/Editor US X-Ray/Biotech (Former Employee) –  Lenexa, KSMarch 16, 2015
It was a clean cut business, with plenty of room to advance. Great benefits and good technicians. There really was minimal management, and people were lazy, however.
Pros
Fast paces, working alone
Cons
Other team members never wanted to show up

horrible company
Mobile Radiographic Technologist (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MOJuly 8, 2014
Forced to work long hours with little pay. Constant traveling and backtracking over a 300 mile radius. Company policy constantly changes with no warning and forced to change with the new policy or be fired. company denies and challanges unemployment and lies about employees to their benefit. paid per patient not by the hour.
Pros
give you a vehicle, gas card, and equipment
Cons
long hours, low pay, will blame you for poor equipment
