(Life-saving) mission, vision driven organization
Sr. Director, Production Planning (Former Employee) –  Scottsdale, AZMay 14, 2018
I was a valued leader in this organization for 19 years and enjoyed an environment where I had the ability to collaborate and work with a team that was focused on providing quality products and service to donor, patients, and hospital customers. The organization invested in me and my professional growth.

Don’t work for this company!!
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) –  Pittsburgh, PAMay 6, 2018
Seriously the worst place to work! If you want to wake up feeling sick about going to work then this is for you. The inconsistency of hours and days you work is so unhealthy. You are never close to home, work short handed all the time and management just sees you as a body not an employee who works hard!

Decent pay

Best coworkers
Donor Technician (Current Employee) –  Davis, CAApril 30, 2018
My coworkers are the best. Too much SOPS, but coworkers and managers are supportive to your success! Needs a lot of focus to work at this job. You can pick as much shifts as you want and get every other weekend off.

Great place to work
Hospital Services Technician (Current Employee) –  Billings, MTApril 4, 2018
I have been with Blood System for almost 6 years and it is an amazing place to work. I have worked for other companies and the PTO accrual, 401k and insurance benefits offered through Blood Systems are without question the best I have encountered. You start earning PTO immediately when you are hired, the company offers matching for your 401k and the insurance is affordable and offers great coverage for my needs. Local management is very receptive and there is a culture of caring in the building, not only for the work we do and the patients we serve, but for our coworkers as well.
Pros
Helping the community, great work environment, great benefits

Poor management
Hospital Services Technician (Former Employee) –  Spokane, WAMarch 22, 2018
This company doesn’t care if you haven’t had a break or a lunch, they claim you are there based on company need. The amount of work you do is far more complex then what they compensate for. Getting trained take MONTHS and MONTHS. I wouldn’t recommend a job there.
Pros
Benefits are good
Cons
Poor management, poor schedule, not enough pay for type of work.

Worst Employer Ever!
ACLS (Former Employee) –  Tempe,AZMarch 10, 2018
This place is so poorly managed it's not even funny. Managers and supervisors play favorites. Senior staff completely unhelpful to new hires. HR is only there to put you through orientation and does nothing to resolve the chronic problems that plague this company. The benefits package they offer is a complete joke. The CEO and board members are completely obsessed with expansion and every time they merge with another company, lots of people loose their jobs. The atmosphere there is oppressive and makes Blood Systems a depressing place to work.
Pros
They pay you to be there.
Cons
Oppressive culture. Bad benefits.

Phlebotomist (Current Employee) –  Fargo, NDJanuary 25, 2018
Great place to work and be involved in the community!
The hardest part of the job is the schedule and the most enjoyable part is knowing that you are making a difference.

If you need the experience you could definitely get that here in the 1st year. This is not a company you want a career with! The favoritism is out of this world.
Pros
Accrued PTO per pay period/performing life saving procedures

You DON"T want to work here
Scientist (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJanuary 11, 2018
Rampant sexism, favoritism and preferential treatment. Heaven forbid the far left liberal cronies running the place find out you were raised with conservative values and beliefs because you will be ostracized.
Cons
Sexist (anti-male), far left liberal paradise.

PTO accrual is minuscule and good luck trying to use any because your superiors will blow a gasket since the place is so understaffed. You have to pay A LOT of money for medical, dental and vision and get very little coverage in return.

Q.A. Coach/Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Tempe, AZNovember 6, 2017
Moving up is a popularity contest. Upper management has a poor process of hiring candidates for lower management positions. Management needs to look at the abilities one has to be followed by others instead of hiring because they make bonus all the time as far as supervisor hiring criteria.
Pros
hours
Cons
ability to move up
