Mobile Supervisor (Former Employee) – Scottsdale, AZ – December 1, 2018
Management laid off all experienced supervisors and hired new from outside the company (cheaper labor). Expected to work long, inconsistent shifts and days including holidays. Management is rude and can’t be bothered. No job security due to cyclical lay offs. Closed AZ lab and outsourced work to other states. I could go on and on.
Collections (Former Employee) – Denver, CO – October 23, 2018
It is extremely rewarding to come to work everyday knowing that what you do is helping save lives unfortunately our management group gets in the way. It doesn’t seem like anyone has a clear idea of what they’re responsible for. Same people have been in charge forever despite continual problems. The potential for a rewarding career exists but probably not until management turns over.
Supervisor-Scientist (Former Employee) – San Francisco, CA – August 29, 2018
Leading Blood Screening Institute for supplying blood to all NoCal Hospitals especially San Francisco. Utilizes state of the art technologies for blood screening. Great place to work with terrific scientists!
Shared Technical Services Supervisor (Former Employee) – Tempe, AZ – August 17, 2018
Ultimately, you feel good working for a company that is striving to meet the blood product needs of hospitals throughout the country. Work is fast paced and attendance is very important as most departments are run very lean.
Benefits (health insurance, life insurance, 401K, etc.)
Hospital Service Technician II (Former Employee) – Tupelo – July 27, 2018
-Will work new employees like dogs. -Obvious favoring of certain employees (mainly Caucasians) -Managers breaking policy then penalizes employees for breaking the same policy -Misuse of company vechicle by management -No privacy due to misuse of drive came in company vans -Little pay for a lot of work. -Dont get on evening shift unless you want to do the early shift's work on top of your own. They won't get punished for this. -Management will not do anything when concern is voiced to them
Sr. Director, Production Planning (Former Employee) – Scottsdale, AZ – May 14, 2018
I was a valued leader in this organization for 19 years and enjoyed an environment where I had the ability to collaborate and work with a team that was focused on providing quality products and service to donor, patients, and hospital customers. The organization invested in me and my professional growth.
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) – Pittsburgh, PA – May 6, 2018
Seriously the worst place to work! If you want to wake up feeling sick about going to work then this is for you. The inconsistency of hours and days you work is so unhealthy. You are never close to home, work short handed all the time and management just sees you as a body not an employee who works hard!
Donor Technician (Current Employee) – Davis, CA – April 30, 2018
My coworkers are the best. Too much SOPS, but coworkers and managers are supportive to your success! Needs a lot of focus to work at this job. You can pick as much shifts as you want and get every other weekend off.
I have been with Blood System for almost 6 years and it is an amazing place to work. I have worked for other companies and the PTO accrual, 401k and insurance benefits offered through Blood Systems are without question the best I have encountered. You start earning PTO immediately when you are hired, the company offers matching for your 401k and the insurance is affordable and offers great coverage for my needs. Local management is very receptive and there is a culture of caring in the building, not only for the work we do and the patients we serve, but for our coworkers as well.
Helping the community, great work environment, great benefits
Hospital Services Technician (Former Employee) – Spokane, WA – March 22, 2018
This company doesn’t care if you haven’t had a break or a lunch, they claim you are there based on company need. The amount of work you do is far more complex then what they compensate for. Getting trained take MONTHS and MONTHS. I wouldn’t recommend a job there.
Benefits are good
Poor management, poor schedule, not enough pay for type of work.
ACLS (Former Employee) – Tempe,AZ – March 10, 2018
This place is so poorly managed it's not even funny. Managers and supervisors play favorites. Senior staff completely unhelpful to new hires. HR is only there to put you through orientation and does nothing to resolve the chronic problems that plague this company. The benefits package they offer is a complete joke. The CEO and board members are completely obsessed with expansion and every time they merge with another company, lots of people loose their jobs. The atmosphere there is oppressive and makes Blood Systems a depressing place to work.
Mobile Phlebotomist (Former Employee) – Scottsdale, AZ – February 8, 2018
Drama, It was like being back in high school. Co workers are not helpful to new employees, there is so many immature people. Rude and mean employee's. Don't waste your time with United Blood Systems, this company does not care or support you!
Drama, employee's, no support to make things better.
Office Coordinator (Former Employee) – Arizona – January 23, 2018
Terrible work place, poor compensation, terrible management, not supportive, dishonest management, staff so unhappy it is a depressing suppressive place to work, people staff for pay check only, upper management non-existent to lower level workers, HR is a joke does nothing to correct issues
