Reviews about Pay & Benefits for Reporter in Bloomberg
Was an amazing place but the times have chnaged.
Reporter (Current Employee) - New York, NY - July 14, 2021
I've had a fantastic ride at Bloomberg for the last 10 years. Generally it's been a fun innovative company to work for and a great brand to be under. Over the last 3 years it's been very clearly they are prepping to sell. Headcount have shrieked while additional work has been added. Work/life balance is awful and they are not flexible on wfh. It's a great legacy but it's best years are past it.
Pros
Compensation and free food.
Cons
Horible work/life balance.

Don’t Work Here If You Want A Life Outside Work
Reporter (Former Employee) - Washington, DC - December 20, 2020
Bloomberg is a cult. You either drink the Kool Aid of 14 hour days, calls in the middle of the night, being yelled at by your manager, or you don’t. But if you’re young, single and just out of college, it’s great place to work. Its fun, exciting and you are part of the Bloomberg “mystique.” It’s only when you get married, have kids and want a life outside of work that you incur the wrath of the company and management for your lack of loyalty.
Pros
Great pay, great benefits, free snacks. beautiful offices, travel, work perks, and being part of the Bloomberg “mystique”
Cons
Long hours, toxic managers, stressful environment, the feeling you are being watched and monitored.

Great experience but lacking
Reporter -- Energy and Commodities (Former Employee) - Caracas, Distrito Capital - April 24, 2016
It was a great learning experience into the mind of the media sectors financial powerhouse but it lacked in terms of working with editors, bureau chiefs and managing editors who in many cases did not understand the problems that are associated with living and working in Caracas, Venezuela.
Pros
Decent salary, travel perks
Cons
No support in country, too many chiefs, very stressful work environment, unrealistic goals for a country as complicated as Venezuela
