Once you get in, youre like family
LVT (Current Employee) – Purcellville, VA – December 17, 2016
BRVA can be a tough place to work. There seems to be 2 types of employees, those that are there for years and years and years, and most who don't even last 2 months. The biggest issue is they don't hire experienced people. If you do have experience or you've worked there for a while, much of your time is spent fixing other people's mistakes. The treatment supervisors are awesome, and one of the main reasons I stay. However, there is definitely some obvious favoritism. As far as doctors go, it really depends.
One of the biggest problems is the lack of benefits. 1 week PTO, which includes sick leave and vacation, if you've worked enough hours per week. That is unacceptable. They also only give holiday pay (time and a half) on Christmas day, thanksgiving, and new years day. I think a big reason they have to hire from the bottom of the barrel is because no experienced person with options would go for a place with such terrible benefits. They recently fixed their pay periods, which makes OT much easier, and now offer health insurance, so they're moving in the right direction.
There's seniority when it comes to scheduling. Many people don't like the mandatory overnights, weekends, or holidays, but if you work there long enough, you pretty much get to pick your schedule.
Many people also complain about the pay. I have gotten 2, 10% raises over a few years. Why? Because I asked for it. If you're a valuable employee who has worked there for some time, Managment will do what they can to keep you happy.
Valued as an employee, sense of family
No PTO, favoritism, tough schedule
