Doesn’t matter. The founder is out of touch with how the peasants live.....number crunching background and hired a VP WHO KNOW how to squeeze the lifeblood out of each store. Nordstrom is west coast and Bluemercury is another east coast company....workers are there to work.

I would be fair about the schedule. I would hire stock people to come in and take care of stock so that the employees can focus on sales rather then doing stock all day. I would have more professional management who are seasoned and trained in employee relations. I would make Regionals and District managers more accountable then hiding behind one another for the stores they are over. There needs to be more of a professional team running this company.

As a woman, I would have the courage to say”give my (90 % female) people a raise they can feel good about”!! Instead of colluding with the good old boys, all those horrible men running retail industry, n politicians who are in bed with the Fortune 500 companies. Paid maternity leave, GIVE a bonus to employees who stand out and stick around for two, 3 , and 5 years. The kind of things that happen in Hitech, and the finance industry, and, predominately male dominated businesses.....make the industry that gives women a sense of self confidence mmmmmore profitable.

The company does have a business plan and IS beholden to Macy’s inc (FORMERLY FEDERATED DEPT STORES). The VP was hired to make that happen on the cheap. what good are employee discounts if employees aren’t earning enough to live.
0.20 cent per hour raises date back to the dark ages. company can now offer competitive benefits (for blue/pink collar work. 401k company match up to 3% but, yeah most dm and upper management are east coast (see housewives of NEW YORK, jersey) and no offense meant. What if the ceo/cfo got together and said “anyone who’s stuck it out for two years or longer gets a dollar raise!!!for pain and suffering!

Have EVERY corporate person get the heck out of Washington DC corporate office and work in a store for 2 days!!
Like ivanka and DONALD, there is a total disconnect between the " Haves" (owners, VP )and the "have nots".store's employees . When 300 stores have been opened (currently 158), and upper management steps aside, those with a DEGREE in current HR law can implement a positive , empowering training program....or not. And more than 1% per year raise.if you're lucky

The company is operating to meet projections -is to have 300 stores opened within the next couple of years. Macy's bought bluemercury because of the business plan. There is no space in the budget to address the human side of the equation. They answer to the bottom line.
