PTO was available but using it usually left the hospital critically understaffed compromising patient care.
You accrue two weeks a year your first 0-3 yrs of service. Fortunately because it is a 24 hour facility you can partner with your supervisor or manager and flex your schedule to accommodate additional time off needs. I strongly recommend open communication regarding scheduling needs and follow up with an email so everything is in writing.
Ex. Work 7 on get 7 off; etc..
Depends on who you are. Management allows a tech to work 2 weeks in a row and then vacation for two weeks. Problem with that is the open shifts this person may leave. How does a newer employee accrue so much time off for several vacations a year? Even if this person switches, there have been many times when there was no one to switch with, so how does this person accrue the amount of PTO it might take a year for another tech to accrue? Shady management.
You accrue PTO each pay period and you must use this to take vacation time.
