See this as an interim position at best and continue your search. Tenure here will not be much longer than a year — hopefully because you will find a better opportunity. Be prepared for a hubris-rich environment. Even though many in management have consulting backgrounds and have “never played the game,” they will insist that they are the smartest people in the room.
Come ready to get cracking. Come ready to learn how things are done but also unwilling to accept that things must be done that way because they always have been. BofI is an innovative environment--but it's from the top down, actually--which is rare. So there is an expectation and pressure from above that people at lower levels will make things better.
It's a job, stepping stone at best, nothing to get overly excited about. The revolving door leaves few with any kind of longevity in all departments. The ones that have managed to stay are miserable going to work each day but are too tired to job search.
