Dallas location could be a good place

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Dallas location could be a good place with a good leadership running the place. Most of the managers have been there forever and were poor mechanics that became "yes" boys. Dallas has always been the last place that aircraft owners wanted to go.

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Zero supper from upper management. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work environment was toxic and we had zero support from upper management. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Running passenger trains up and down the coast.

What is the best part of working at the company?A paycheck. They don’t have tools that work and the ones that do are being used. Getting parts is a joke and on back order. Hardware is nonexistent and the company thinks just because they are not building aircraft the service centers don’t need to restock the bins. Trying to get them to buy special tools for mods and items on blueprints is going to break the bank. The process for purchasing anything requires multiple layers of approval before going to the buyer. It’s easier to go buy what you need because of the ludicrous amount of time involved and when they do someone steals it. If it wasn’t for the utter chaos and lack of planning to proof read the paperwork which has to be corrected before completing the job I would find somewhere else to work but getting paid for the circus act is enjoyable. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not enough money What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Dazed and confused What is a typical day like for you at the company?Going to a circus and paid

Safety Critical Product

Bombardier has a saftey critical product and everything is super organized compare to other companies. This means that slow speed environment with no so many changes. Its a great place to learn processes.

Management doesn't respect change

Upper management was stuck in the "we did it this way for years" mentality. They would run from meeting to meeting and never accomplish anything other than chasing their tails. Lower level people who ACTUALLY do the work and provide constructive insights/solutions/criticism were routinely ignored because the budget was all they cared about. In reality, if they had open ears, the budget wouldn't be destroyed because they would actually make beneficial changes. Cart first - horse last business model.

Great benefits and a sense of accomplishment here

Great benefits and pay. My manager truly cares about my success and the success of the entire team and company. Great work/life balance and family comes first is really a thing here. They take suggestions from everyone and actually implement them. The Dallas site has seen a lot of change in management over the last few years but it is on a strong healthy path now. The culture is very inclusive and the workforce is diverse. They promote from within whenever possible.

Pay, benefits, work/life balance, the feeling that you are trusted to do your job

It takes too long to get 3 weeks vacation and the buy up on spouse life insurance is very low

It’s a very interesting place to work at. You have your good and bad days there.

I loved the weekend shift. I worked 3, 12 hour shifts and had 4 days off each week. I was able to save PTO and Vacation time because of it. The balance is there. The only issue is that it’s just a job. No sense of belonging or familihood. I wish it would change, but management does not care.

Excellent Benefits and 3-4-3 Schedule was goid

Bombardier has been through some changes and is now part of Mitsubishi Heavy industries. The hours are long and a lot of contractors are hired and not all get hired direct. If you're a direct hire benefits are good but contractors benefits are usually sub par.

Amazing company and the work they produce

The knowledge, craftsmanship and professionalism of the technicians, project managers and corporate team is outstanding. Customers volley to bring their aircraft to the Hartford Service Center as they know they are in best of hands. Bombardier is up to the “Challenge…..ER”.

Flexible schedule

Pride and Craftmanship

By far, the level of pride and workmanship the technicians, project managers and management team have allows their craftmanship to shine through in producing amazing work on these stunning aircrafts. Because of this, customers volley to bring their planes to the Hartford Service Center and know they are in the best of hands.

Management struggles to change

Management at Bombardier fails to adjust to make things more efficient. There is a "its always been done this way" type of thinking throughout the company. Even if things are shown to be totally ineffective and there is a better way to do things, the communication is so bad and no one cares to actually change. In serious need of someone to shake things up and hold people accountable for not doing the right thing or the more efficient thing.

Management use good old boy policy for promotions.

Management does not support their employees, Montreal is selling off the Learjet. The Wichita site is losing skilled workers by the dozens because the Company is too cheap to raise pay scales. I would steer clear of this place, it's quite a dysfunctional place to work.

Canadian owned, poor management, dysfunction.

No opportunity for growth after 10 years

It’s a constant rollercoaster in the aviation industry,.. broken deals and a dead end job is a result of that. Pretentious superiority and inflated egos plague the work place dynamic

It’s a job

Disrespectful, unorganized with zero communication
