I worked here when the restaurant grand opened and it was very busy and stressful because everyone wanted to try the new place. As time went on and I came back as a customer, the place was fairly quiet but the food was still very good.

Quick service the plates are small and the tables turn quickly . Customers love the food its addictive it sells itself. Some customers can be very cheap since its fast casual so be aware.

Not too stressful. The pay was not good when I had to support myself and my daughter. Sometimes it is so slow that the tips are not even good. I made some good friends there and the managers were okay.

Fun place to work, manager and store owners are very friendly, I had such a good time working there, a bit relax, the food was good, owners don't bother do you as long as you do your role there isn't any problem, they very understanding and do care about their employs

Each Bonchon franchise is different-- the manager, the people, the customers, the way things are done. I enjoyed being a server because it matched my extroverted personality and liked the fast-paced environment while being on my feet. If your looking for a job that keeps you alert and busy, become a server at places like BonChon.

Half-priced food 30 minutes after and before your shift.
Cons
You only get a break when this slow-down FOH.

Relaxed but sometimes hectic

In the mornings and afternoons it's very chill and in those hours, cleaning the eating areas and refilling sodas, side orders, etc. are what fill your time. At around 5pm-closing time it gets quite hectic with the customers, online orders, and phone calls.

I had a great crew, I set the rythm in the kitchen and it was followed. Menu and prices were spectacular overall. Atmosphere somewhat Bland but comfortable. Had an awesome bar with great drink specials. Sorry to see the owner couldn't hold it together.

A typical work day at Bonchon can be very relaxed at times. Sometime, management likes to micro-manage you and that can create a sense of discouragement and cause you to be uncomfortable. Pretty routined from a day to day standpoint. What I learned about management is that they can be moody and slightly unprofessional at times. The culture is pretty Asian/ Korean based with a hint of diversity. Coworkers can be very friendly and makes the environment cool to work in.

Avoid like the plague!!!

I don't know if other BonChon locations are like this, but avoid the Chapel Hill, NC location like the plague. The workplace environment is full of gossip, flirting, and drama, and even the management/owners participate themselves. No one there seems to understand professionalism one single bit. There's a reason this particular location has a ridiculous turnover rate for managers and employees in such a short period of time.

Co-workers were amazing. The assistant managers served as well getting paid more per hour than servers which is unfair. The GM talks to you however he sees fit and makes you feel terrible. While people justify what he says as that's just how he is take it or leave it.
