A lot was expected of their employees, pushed employees to reach their max potential. Good work/life balance - regular social events or activities. Extremely fast turn over of employees,

Lively, relaxed work environment. Enjoyed my team and learned a lot from this company. Job is not stressful. Lots of food in the kitchen; snacks, drinks, etc.

BCG is a great place to work and provides fantastic opportunities for growth. The culture is collaborative and the work is fast-paced but others are always happy to help and employees are empowered.

Project Assistant (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXMarch 28, 2018
By far the worst place I have ever worked. I cannot even express in words how bad it was. Non stop all hours for ridiculous things. Harassment. Sexism. Lack of diversity. Just no, don't do it!
Pros
free cereal, candy. great benefits

akin to being a servant

Working at BCG, you can definitely be expected to be stretched to new levels.

You work with incredibly talented and capable people who have really thoughtful insights regarding many of the problems you encounter on a day to day basis in some of the world's most capable companies.

Career advancement and benefits are great, provided you can sustain the very demanding work schedule (a typical day can run for 12-14 hours or more).

If you're young, super intelligent and very motivated, this is one of the best places to jumpstart your career

Executive Assistant (Current Employee) –  Boston, MAJanuary 23, 2018
Team environment is strong at BCG, affiliation is important and appreciation is constant. People here strive to build each other up and support one another, instead of tearing each other down to get ahead like some companies.

Typical Cut Throat Culture
Non-consulting IT (Current Employee) –  ChicagoJanuary 14, 2018
Boston Consulting Group makes a crazy amount of money and margins that any business today would want to have. However, it comes at a cost to most employees who cycle through the company. The "up or out" culture is baked in and daily someone from your region in the company says their good-byes. Imagine if BCG tried to retain talent.
Unfortunately, that baked in culture translates to employees who did not sign on to the consulting practices.
If you like an always-on, rat-race culture, this is the place for you. If you're lucky and get assigned the right gig with the right senior people, you'll do fine. At least you'll meet some very bright people, build a solid network in the areas you work, and probably land on your feet when it's time for you to go and go you will.
Pros
Free meals, Free snacks and beverages, open-space work environment
Cons
Cut Throat, Rat Race, Short-lived culture

Far from Fair
Information Security Analyst (Former Employee) –  Boston, MADecember 26, 2017
The management is vert cut throat. Once you are not in favor of management, it is time to go. It is expected you do everything correctly. One mishap and your job can be in jeopardy. Only way to advance yourself is to become friends with your boss to advance. However, the benefits are the best part of the job with free dental and medical. Steer away from this place otherwise. Most individuals are underpaid even though this is a multi million dollar company. There are great individuals who work here otherwise, but you have to be careful or you could be in for quite a ride.
