Awful place to work. If you do your job well, you just get more work from those that can not hold their own. Those that have been there forever get favored even when they can not do their job well. The logo family matters no matter what, does not apply to employees. Old management covers for their friends.

Extremely poor management. Bullying culture that is sadly tolerated. Very poor customer service in the claims department. Some people are overworked while others have time to talk all day, management included. Co-workers are selfish and non-supportive. Long time staff are allowed to be rude to customers and co-workers and take loud temper tantrums that are very disruptive and non-productive for all involved. Very unpleasant place to work, no professionalism shown.

Boston Mutual has lost the family feeling that it used to have. There is a culture of fear and people are discouraged from speaking out. Any attempt to shine the light on a problem in processes or procedure is perceived as negative.

Management and HR work together against employees.
A lot of favoritism.
The Internal database is very antiquated.
Incompetent employee’s, management hold their hands instead of dealing with the issue.
VP in claims department has no people skills or management skills.

Sink or swim mentality, training is all about BML not processes, the procedures change daily, weekly at the very least. There is no actual service, everyone just shuffles off to the next person.,

If the culture they are looking for is "its not my job" they've succeeded! No one accepted responsibility foe their job: taking care of the client. I have never seen anything like it. The President is not involved and very detached.

It was a privilege working at Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company.
The staff was great the work ethic was a joy to be around and the company is very diverse. It was a very establishment to work for and I would recommend others as well.

An average day of work would consist of your usual clerical tasks. Management looks for employees who strive to better themselves in the insurance field. They give many opportunities to educate yourself and offer in house certifications which undoubtedly leads to higher pay and high instant gratification. The president of the company works closely to his staff and humbles himself to the point where it's hard to believe he is even in the president and CEO postion

This is a great place to work and has great benefits. There are so many different departments, yet you always feel like you're part of a big team. Training opportunities are lacking and make it slightly difficult to do your job. Overall, great company.

Management and HR work together against employees.
A lot of nepotism in this workplace.
A lot of favoritism.
The Internal database is very antiquated.
It used to be a great place to work, however greed and corruption has severely taken its toll.
There used to be a lot of loyalty for the employees however that has gone straight out the window.
They just recently laid off the majority of the IT Department to bring in a third party. The remaining IT employees who are there only two train this third party will be gone within a year.

The cafeteria food is excellent and the grounds are kept very nice.

It was great worked in Boston Mutual at the beginning. They pay me $50.00 a day plus commission. My schedules was very comfortable for me and sometimes I leave early. But at the end they pay me just 15% of commission.
