Some employees are really good at their job, others get away with barely doing any work. Overall a decent place to work at. Plenty of OT to go around if you want to work.

Great Staff Support

Bournewood hospital is it busy and times challenging workplace. The patients are presenting with mental health issues but the staff are very invested in their care. I enjoyed the team spirit and collaboration among all staff. Very good workplace to learn about working with psychiatric patients.

The Lowell location has had a history of problems that management has yet to resolve and result in very high turn over and poor morale. Ask about family members Reporting to one another!

Very diverse, but favoritism is the norm

Acceptable place to work. Management is trying hard to improve staffing issue, and the pay is not too bad compared to many places. But, they barely value education. Most managers only have an associate degree while the overall staff nurse have a BSN, and the favoritism is the norm.

Co workers working together

I enjoyed my time at Bournewood and would still be working there had I not moved (way) out of state. It's a great place to work as a mental health counselor also.
