I really enjoy working at the boys& girls club it's a safe environment for children who are taught how to be productive in their daily lives, how to get along with others there's always things for the children to do.

This job was fairly easy. It was nerve wracking at first, but it was my first job. After doing it serval times throughout the day, it gets easier and more calming. The time also goes by really fast.

Lack of training, no warning. Bosses can get away with stuff they write you up for. Un fair practice. Kids hate the club. They fired the nicest person they could ever hire.
Manager in Cincinnati, OH

The mission of the organization is lost. Board is comprised of rich (mainly men) who are not as involved as they claim to be. Senior management only seem to be concerned with doing things that will bring in money. They claim to serve all kids, but cannot serve kids who are not neurotypical, english speaking, able bodied. Some of the buildings are not ADA compliable. The pay is extremely low for what is expected. The purpose of the organization is good, however this branch does not execute well. There are a bunch of vacancies all the time and job turn over is extremely high.
Youth Development Professional in Bend, OR

I may have been overqualified, but the management did not even treat me like a human. They refused to listen or communicate with me. They also nit-picked at the small things and when I went above and beyond they looked the other way. On my last day they left early so they did not have to say bye or acknowledge me leaving. This is probably localized to the Bend, OR location, however, I am not the only one with these feelings.
