Bracket has great benefits but is understaffed thus employees are overworked and not happy. Employees are working many extra hours with now reward at all.

Toxic work environment
Software Tester (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CADecember 16, 2017
Totally toxic work environment. Consistent feeling across staff that the management doesn't care nor listen to anything the employees think and feel, often ignoring suggestions for improvement or changes. Evidence of severe lack of trust between management and workers in both directions. Management enacts far-reaching directives without consulting with people on the floor who know the issues and have much better ideas for addressing the issues. Senior management has been known to belittle the intelligence, professionalism, and hard work of employees, and doesn't seem to truly understand (nor respect) what testers do. Projects seem to be mismanaged from start to finish, top to bottom, and testers are expected to make up for the incompetence of the project team and time shortages created by a mismanaged project by being available weekends and extended hours. High stress, high demand, low and lousy support, very demotivating place to work, stay away.

Advice to the owners: Fire management across the board and reinstall a whole new line of people who know how to effectively LEAD AND INSPIRE. Leaders who collaborate, respect, and include their people in on the process. Hire leaders who have shown they know how to LEAD. Quit promoting good workers to management positions for which they have no experience nor talent for and then expect them to manage well when you give them zero management training and not much support.
Pros
Great location, nice office, free snacks, many nice people, has been flexible for valuable employees.

You can learn a lot here
Associate ePRO Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Langhorne, PADecember 4, 2017
You can learn a lot here; such as what poor management, organizational structure, and massive growth without proper planning looks like. You can learn how to do every job role yourself but be paid for one job role.
Pros
Holiday Parties
Cons
No work life balance

Do not work there unless you are desperate.
The worst cut-throat environment I have ever experienced with a micro-management philosophy that pushes you to record your activities per 15 minutes.
They give you 4 weeks vacation but expect you to work during your vacation time and even during national holidays...

Great company growing pains
Anonymous (Current Employee) –  Wayne, PAJuly 18, 2017
Being a part of a company that helps bring drugs to market to help people is rewarding. Everyone works hard and puts in very long hours. The company grows so fast that it's hard to keep up with adding enough employees to manage everything. This causes problems with job work/life balance. New management has come in and communication, respect for others experience, and working as a team is a thing of the past now.
Pros
Great benefits, people are awesome, we have fun
Cons
Lack of respect from new upper management, no career development

Bracket is a great place to work. You are not micro-managed and everyone respects one another.

Bracket can use an on-boarding program or condensed specialized training for each specific job area. This would be very beneficial in helping a new employee hit the ground running.

Associate Project Manager (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CA 94105July 21, 2016
Flexible staff and management, however a very large workload on a smaller staff. Colleagues are what really make Bracket work, most people give 120% when in the office.
Pros
Well stocked kitchen, hard working colleagues, flexible management
Cons
Heavy workload, pay not as competitive as it could be

Project Manager (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CANovember 20, 2015
My experience with my assigned manager was not the best and was the primary reason for my decision to leave. However, Bracket has the best group of people I've had the pleasure of working with.
Pros
Great support from colleagues and team members, adequate financial compensation
Cons
Work life balance is lacking and some management lack the skills to lead a talented group.

The worst place a person could work
analyst (Former Employee) –  Wayne, PANovember 15, 2015
Regardless of your title, it seems as if Bracket is really a terrible place to work. I blame this mostly on management. Project managers are typically very bad at what they do. Mistakes and miscommunications occur all the time. Some projects feel like you are being sent on a wild goose chase with the number of changes made. It seems like no one knows how long things should take and they always grossly underestimate the amount of time allotted to a given activity. This leads to projects always running straight down to the wire which puts an unbelievable amount of stress on employees. If a project goes wrong, they are quick to point the finger. If you are thinking about working here please listen to the reviews. It's just not worth it. You will most likely end up making more elsewhere and your life will be a lot better. You wont be expected to work insane hours and have no life as you are expected to do at bracket. Sure the free food is cool, but it's really not worth it.

Manager Product Development (Current Employee) –  Wayne, PAMay 6, 2015
As a working mother, there needs to be a work life balance. My management ensures that there is a work life balance. The technology is sound and it is a great environment to work in.

Was once a good place to work...
Sr. Project Specialist (Current Employee) –  Wayne, PAMay 1, 2015
Bracket provides many services to our pharmaceutical clients. There is much to learn and always plenty of work to do. Work can be fulfilling, but upper management seems to only focus on getting more business and often promises services to clients that have not yet been tested. Buyer (sponsor) beware. Very poor compensation for amount of work that is expected. 40+ hours every week.
Pros
Great project mngt. experience
Cons
Poor compensation

The worst company I have ever worked for. Look at other options.
Project Specialist (Current Employee) –  Wayne, PaMarch 21, 2013
This company is desperate to hire not because they are growing quickly but because they have horrible retention. The project team does work that would be done by a secretary or administrative assistant at any other workplace.

Because they are a vendor firm, they do the work that pharmaceutical companies deem to be below their talent level and wish to outsource. The work is extremely boring, unchallenging and due to understaffing and poor retention, can be voluminous.

Morale is extremely low and almost everyone is looking for another job. Given the the current economy, many people (especially those with families) feel stuck at Bracket.

Middle management is extremely poor. This includes Project Managers and Directors. Many of these individuals never received proper business training and wouldn't survive at any other legitimate companies.

Consider all other options before agreeing to work here. While they have nice location, and friendly people on the surface, the reality on the inside of the company is one of desperation and unhappiness. Look at other review sites to confirm this information for yourself.

Quite young and open working environment especially in the Project Delivery department. Many of Project Assistants are promoted from temp to permanent and some of them are even going up to Project Specialist level within 3-4 years.
Pros
benefits starts applying from the 1st day of hired.
Cons
upper management doesn't monitor much about pm's activities.

Project Specialist - Specialty Clinical Services (Current Employee) –  Wayne, PASeptember 3, 2012
From day one, you hit the ground running. You learn about several Bracket-specific services offered and become an integral part of a 4-6 person team. Starting as a contractor may not seem appealing but it provides you with a chance to learn everything from the ground up. Everyone is very friendly and most are in their 20s and 30s which makes the company more fun. They use a lot of acronyms that you need to pick up on as it becomes second nature to use them without giving it a second thought. They expect a lot from you as from day one, you could be speaking directly with clients.
Pros
free soda vending machine, holiday party, welcome breakfasts, birthday celebrations, employee appreciation day
Cons
no overtime for full time employees, sometimes long hours (dependent on projects), favoritism

Project Assistant (Current Employee) –  Wayne, PAOctober 30, 2011
Bracket is a growth company with 20% growth per year. Investors love this company and pharma clients also love it. Unfortunately, it is not a great place to work if you are looking for a work life balance.
Pros
happy hours, suburban drinking crowd, young company, international travel
Cons
long hours expected
