Totally toxic work environment. Consistent feeling across staff that the management doesn't care nor listen to anything the employees think and feel, often ignoring suggestions for improvement or changes. Evidence of severe lack of trust between management and workers in both directions. Management enacts far-reaching directives without consulting with people on the floor who know the issues and have much better ideas for addressing the issues. Senior management has been known to belittle the intelligence, professionalism, and hard work of employees, and doesn't seem to truly understand (nor respect) what testers do. Projects seem to be mismanaged from start to finish, top to bottom, and testers are expected to make up for the incompetence of the project team and time shortages created by a mismanaged project by being available weekends and extended hours. High stress, high demand, low and lousy support, very demotivating place to work, stay away.
Advice to the owners: Fire management across the board and reinstall a whole new line of people who know how to effectively LEAD AND INSPIRE. Leaders who collaborate, respect, and include their people in on the process. Hire leaders who have shown they know how to LEAD. Quit promoting good workers to management positions for which they have no experience nor talent for and then expect them to manage well when you give them zero management training and not much support.
Great location, nice office, free snacks, many nice people, has been flexible for valuable employees.
