I learned a lot about what to do and what not to do coupled with how to handle myself in various situations, even if it was the hard way.
Peer Support Specialist (Former Employee) - Little Rock, AR - June 18, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWhat is the best part of working at the company? Facilitating groups, and actively using skills and education I had gained. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? At times there were so many changes it was hard to keep up with. Management would micromanage & change things and leave the Peers in the dark & then get mad when you didn't do things right. Management thought you should know everything about everything & then talk down to you and treat you like your stupid when you did something wrong in their eyes. Yet offer no type of training. I frequently missed great opportunities for certain trainings that would advance my career because management worked their own agenda to advance others. That's wrong in my opinion. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Confusing, disruptive, & disconnected. What is a typical day like for you at the company? It flowed nice once you knew what was actually going on & everyone was where they needed to be.

Fun place
AC (Current Employee) - Warrior, AL - September 24, 2023
I love helping people and Bradford gives me a great opportunity to help others to get sober. I am a former addict myself and went through Bradford as a patient and after two years in recovery they hired me to help other addicts to find recovery

Assistant Counselor (Former Employee) - Warrior, AL - September 19, 2023

Great patients, bad management
Counselor Assistant (Former Employee) - Madison, AL - September 18, 2023
Be prepared to work shifts you were not hired in for & for less pay than you were told. Nobody seems to be on the same page. Most of the patients are wonderful - in fact, they are the best part of the job. However, the same cannot be said for upper management.

Mostly rewarding because of the clients that we help but bad because of the management
Clerk (Former Employee) - Madison, AL - September 11, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Some of the staff and helping people that need us. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Always being short staffed and having management that is all about the $ and not about the staff What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very political and if you're not in the click then you don't stand a chance What is a typical day like for you at the company? Just depends on the time and day

Bradford Had Heart, New Owners stepped in and began disassembling everything that set Bradford apart from the competition.
Recovery Specialist (Former Employee) - Warrior, AL - September 3, 2023

Supervisor was supportive and cared
Counselor Assistant (Former Employee) - Madison, AL - July 25, 2023
Over worked and underpaid but my supervisor helped me learn and grow a lot as a professional. The environment was toxic and understaffed for how many patients we were responsible for which made it overwhelming as well as a safety concern. A lot of burn out among staff and high turnover rate

Enjoyed the work!!
Care Coordinator (Former Employee) - Birmingham, AL - June 29, 2023
RUN!! This company is not about potential patients. The supervisors are focused on the wrong things, making up lies & treating the office staff like children. The culture is weird, the atmosphere is toxic. The patients & potential patients are the highlight of the job.
Pros
I met some of the sweetest people.
Cons
The rules change daily.

Bad environment
Former Employee (Former Employee) - Madison, AL - June 7, 2023
What you are told is different from what you see and experience. The overall environment is "oppressive" with unhappy employees that complain and express their unhappiness, which feeds the growing unhappiness. The facility is run down and filthy, so that adds to the poor working environment.
Pros
They have benefits that start after 30 days.
Cons
Poor working environment, feeling of "unhappiness, " oppressive.

Nurse (Former Employee) - Madison, AL - April 15, 2023
You won't be a patient or an employee of a facility less interested in your welfare. Each shift you have 1-2 nurses and staff who are doing their jobs, and the rest of the staff do what they want. The same people have been there forever - once the others find a way out the door, they vaporize.

Good company
Corporate (Former Employee) - Birmingham, AL - March 21, 2023
The people are incredibly nice and supportive. The compensation and benefits could be better. Not much room for growth or improvement in your career.

Too Much Micromanagement
Counselor II (Former Employee) - Warrior, AL - March 20, 2023
Not a supportive place to work. Unrealistic expectations of counselors' work. Too little pay for too much work. I would not reccomend working there unless you have no other options.

Can’t keep people
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Madison, AL - March 20, 2023
Love the patients, they need help. Work… not enough staff. Low paying. Supportive nurse managers. Non medical people making medical decisions. CEO tells MD what to do.
Pros
Supportive nurse managers.
Cons
Low pay, not enough staff, no patient accountability, no security, building is old and run down. JACO inspection is a joke. Bug spray by water

Good workplace overall
Substance Abuse Counselor (Current Employee) - Warrior, AL - February 28, 2023
The job is not hard and it’s a pretty laidback environment. My only issues is the pay isn’t the best, there is no room for pay raises and the job is 30 minutes away from where I live.

It’s not the worst place to work.
Assistant Counselor (Current Employee) - Warrior, AL - January 21, 2023
Some days can be pretty laid back, others quite challenging. It definitely takes a special type of personality to work here. There’s little in the way of benefits other than your hourly wage, which could definitely be higher.

Poor benefits and low pay.
Counselor II (Former Employee) - Chattanooga, TN - December 28, 2022
Pay is really low, especially considering having bad benefits. Health insurance is over 300 a month for a single person. No 401k matching etc. Bradford is not transparent on how bad the benefits are at hire. They talk about PTO but it expires at the end of the year and is not paid out so it is lost. Bradford has little ability to have coverage to let people take PTO due to low staffing. No time is allotted for notes for evening counselors as you are expected to work over and are paid “salary” not hourly. Believe the reviews on here about Bradford being a bad place to work because they are accurate.
Pros
Paid licensure supervision.
Cons
Most everything.

Clients are the best part.
Assistant Counselor (Current Employee) - Madison, AL - December 14, 2022
My daily interactions with my patients in recovery are the best part of what I do. They make me feel cared for and that I make a difference. However, management at this location makes employees feel dispensable. Decisions often don't make sense and aren't explained. Base pay (13.50) is unlivable. Seems like most CA's are there for the experience while they are in school or until they can move to something better. The work isn't hard, but neither is the job fulfilling.
Pros
Benefits/PTO
Cons
Management doesn't care about lower-level staff
