I worked at BWSG for a few months dec-feb 18 it was better than I thought I seen parts of Texas I never seen ppl there real nice ppl the unloading the truck ain’t so much as a problem as ppl think it more of what kind of customer ur dealing with that’s the hard part for me maybe cause I’m not a ppl person as far as management only thing I didn’t like was I don’t know every area and I felt rush and the fact u starting as a rotator driver other than that would of still been there but the oil field life is more easier

Pros

Hourly pay

Cons

Fast paced and busy days

It's a good place to work compared to most other places; coworkers are usually pretty cool and the pay is decent. On your feet all day so you're tired by the end of it.

Job Culture

Understaffed, long hours, disconnected upper management

Very clique-ish culture and ownership (management), for the most part, operates within those cliques, giving blatant preference to certain individuals. Nepotism is prevalent. Management's major failure is disconnection; from an oblivious comprehension of the shortcomings regarding their operating and inventory systems and the limitations thereof, to the issues of understaffed departments, to the necessity for interdepartmental communication.... their lack of operational awareness is daunting.... and forget about the logistics department; it's an utter NIGHTMARE. They're completely clueless when considering the work involved in running many of the departments and are notorious for running 'a good work horse into the ground.' Opportunity for advancement is far and few in between for most. They pride themselves in attempting to run shoe-string departments, so if you hire on, be prepared to work far beyond your scope and enjoy the additional responsibilities, once they're aware of your competence. There is no compensation for your extra efforts, no pay raises, and no quarterly or annual bonuses.

Pros

flexible work hours (though you cant afford the flexibility), opportunity for limited telecommuting, and solid 401K

Cons

nepotism, culture, management's incompetence (ownership), weak compensation, no bonuses, and get ready to work all but christmas day, thanksgiving day, and easter day

Production was synchronized with customers orders.

Unloaded frozen merchandise from cooler trucks. Took count of merchandise to match order form. Observe quality of items ordered, rejecting damaged ones. Breakdown on to pallets. Label pallets with tag stating location number and the amount of merchandise on it. Weekly cleaned docking area of freezer.

Pros

Fringe benefits.

good benefits; not enough pay for the hard, back breaking work

come in at 2, 3, 4, or5:00 a.m., depending where I am going. drive 2-3 hours to first stop bad management; they don't care about you as a person, as long as the product fit on the truck they expected you get the job done
