STORE MANAGER (Former Employee) –  Wichita Falls, TXJune 16, 2019
If you want to fully invest your career and lively hood on a company that will terminate you without any write ups. And will not inform you of what you are being terminated for after a six year tenure. Then this place is for you. Good luck they make it seem great in the beginning. I wouldn’t work for this company again if I was offered a million dollar a year wage.

A company that doesn't care about their employees
Retail Sales (Former Employee) –  Peoria, ILJune 8, 2019
I went in motivated, going above and beyond what was expected. HR and the area manager micromanage stores in Peoria and Pekin (130 miles away). They pick favorites, choose when they want to follow policy and terminate employees without prior writeups. Thankfully I had a good store manager but he was getting burned out by the garbage from corporate. The majority at the local stores are two-faced, disrespectful, lazy employees.

Worst Job!
Financial Analyst (Former Employee) –  Bloomingdale, ILMay 28, 2019
Working in Finance wasn't the best experience. The leader often exercised his authority through fear. For example, if you made simple mistakes, he would lose his cool and rant continuously over the mistake you made. His tone over email was equally unprofessional at times. This leader is still with the company and leads the finance org. Beware, he's not easy to work with or for!
Cons
No flexibility with work hours

Store Manager (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXApril 10, 2019
This is a great place to learn about the Auto Service industry. Lot's of training and there is still some very good people with experience who work for the company. The pay is average and the benefits are ok.

they're changing more now than they ever have. Some people have difficulty handling change. Most of the people are very dedicated. Like many organizations it's a matter if the fit is good for you.

Store Manager (Current Employee) –  Depew, NYJanuary 10, 2019
Great compensation, terrible work home life balance. Although performance is rewarded at this company, the need to work 60+ hours, and always be on call, makes having any sort of home life difficult.

Manager of Tire Sales (Current Employee) –  Marietta, GADecember 19, 2018
The hardest part of the job is that everyone is in competition with each other which is a lot of stress. Putting the sales ticket into their names when you are not there or at lunch. Continuous movement of people which is a huge concern with the customers.
Pros
Educating the customer on their needs.
Cons
No camaraderie.

Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Kansas City, MODecember 13, 2018
If you enjoy working but not getting paid your worth this is the place to be. They did not pay the players and put a cap on the ones that made them money. If they continued a good thing they had this would not be an issue and a lot of people would still work for them.

SALES (Current Employee) –  Minneapolis, MNNovember 8, 2018
This company will stand behind you 100% but they work you hard. The whole team is great to work with but sometimes question management. Work with guest is fun and being fast pace is great. If you work hard put up number this is a great job.
Pros
Employee Discounts on repairs and tires. Decent benefits
Cons
Some of the leadership need to held accountable.

Good place to advance very pressured with sales and metrics. Not good work home life. Very stressful at time but get to work with some good people. Meet good people and make friends and it is rewarding to help people.

Great stepping stone
Service Manager (Former Employee) –  Pompano Beach, FLOctober 18, 2018
During my tenure with Bridgestone I was able to raise relatively quick through the ranks and become a service manager in under a year. They will promote you if they see talent and ability. The downside is that they will try and keep your wages the same if you don't speak up. Management styles will depend on the area manager. I had the ability to work in two separate areas and the styles they had were night and day. Be prepared to have action plans in place and have answers for your results. This is a great company to work for but you have to have the right leadership in place for it to feel as such. Stores are usually staffed with a manager, service manager and one, if you're lucky, two service advisers.
Pros
good prices on tires and maintenance services
Cons
long hours of standing and walking

Customer Experience Manager Tire Specialist (Current Employee) –  Madison Heights, MIOctober 15, 2018

Manager (Former Employee) –  VariousOctober 10, 2018
Nice workplace. Compensation could be better for what you’re expected to do. Very little home life. The upper management tends to micromanage but they are trying to help.

the hardest part of job is summer days. Rooms are up to 130 degrees for tires
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  North CarolinaOctober 1, 2018
The phone constantly rings while you have customers waiting to be served. Customer complains that there is too much upselling. Not enough mechanics to handle the workload.
Pros
A paycheck
Cons
Unable to eat lunch on some days. Not able to eat lunch until 4 or 5pm

HR (Former Employee) –  Bloomingdale, ILSeptember 5, 2018
Worked many long hours beyond the normal day and even worked on vacation for a few hours a day. Balance wasn't there. Managers did not recognize this additional workload and raises were spread among the higher levels rather than to reward those that went above and beyond on a daily basis.
Cons
Little work/life balance
