A good place for students, but teacher salaries are low.
9th-12th grade English/Social Studies Teacher (Current Employee) –  Northville, MIJanuary 8, 2019
A good place to work but salaries are low and there is little room for advancement. .Most students have special needs and have learning disabilities, but generally students are motivated and want to learn..

Do not send your students
Multi-Subject Teacher (Former Employee) –  Washington StateDecember 29, 2018
This organization should be reviewed by OSPI. So many situations occurred that would be considered an infraction as a "school". The organization started as tutoring/one to one and should just be considered that. Many teachers are not certified.

Experience depends upon your Director
Former Teacher (Former Employee) –  Washington StateDecember 15, 2018
If you have a great Director, your work life is good.
Compensation is poor, basically an hourly job. No benefits, no paid time off. If you're sick you don't get paid.
Great to work one on one with students. Can add to your planned lessons.
However, upper management has no interest in talking to any employee below Director. As I said if you have a great Director, things will be great. If you don't, look for another job, because you can't even reach out to HR.
Good if you're doing it for the teaching experience or just "in between" jobs.
Pros
If you have a good Director, great support and hours
Cons
Poor pay and no access above Director.

Great place for teachers and students alike
Lead Teacher (Current Employee) –  Broomfield, COOctober 19, 2018
Brightmont is a great place to work for many reasons. When you show up, the first thing that you do is review your material for the day and make sure you have any printouts or equipment you need. The great part about this, though, is that the curriculum, lessons, equipment, and all tests and quizzes are provide for you. This not only saves you money, but also time since there is no need to work on lessons or grading outside of your work day.
Brightmont is a unique place to work because it lets you teach one on one with students on guided curriculum which is nationally accredited.
One of the downsides, however, is also linked directly to the pre made curriculum. Since the material and tests and all pre made, it is easy to decide which material needs to be covered, but it also means that there is no real changes that you can make. There are a number of questions I would have personally removed from some of the tests and quizzes, but you are unable to do so.
The only other real downside is that there is no benefits package, but the salary is generous, so it sort of evens out.
Pros
Great people, relaxed environment, no take home material
Cons
No benefits package, restricted on what you teach

A great place to work with flexible hours
Part-time Teacher (Current Employee) –  MichiganOctober 18, 2018
If you love teaching but don't want to teach in a traditional school setting, this is a great place to teach.

- Flexible Schedule
- Small classroom size, one-to-one
- A variety of students
- Teaching and tutoring opportunities
- Part-time

Great Place to Work
Teacher (Current Employee) –  Plymouth, MIOctober 10, 2018
Brightmont is a great school to work at. Each of the students are unique, and it is very rewarding to help all of the kids reach their goals. The other teachers, staff, and administration are all very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a part-time teaching job!

Social Studies Teacher (Former Employee) –  Apple Valley, MNJanuary 28, 2018
Brightmont is effective learning environment for students to gain knowledge in their educational gaps. It provides one to one coaching that helps engage students when they have been struggling in a subject.
