The company put less of an importance on design and brand which was my only point of frustration. I did however enjoy the people and culture but would not recommend them for a creative person.

Strong products, good energy

BrightTALK's developed a group of very talented, motivated people that are building something really valuable. The team has felt more empowered each year and there's an unusually high level of passion and dedication.

Great Online Platform

Overall I had a good time working with BrightTALK, really fun people and a good direction however when the company became a certain size then the culture started to shift towards all work with no real culture. My main concern was to be considered as a top performer you need to come in at 7am and leave after 8pm. First and foremost I am completely an advocate for coming in early and leaving late to ensure you are working at 110% at all times however when it becomes a (hidden) requirement to be advanced I took issue since people who could complete their work and more within a 9hr day were not afforded the same respect. Overall I do wish the best for BrightTALK, they have some much room to grow and if they can get the culture right then sky's the limit.

Free junk food - no cubicles -

Co-workers are talented, but also very young and inexperienced in the business world. Unusually large number of small, back-biting cliques. Managers report slightest mistakes to upper management. Some offices believe they are much more important than others. People are type-cast easily and quickly. There is no work privacy (no cubicles) and it is quite difficult to do one's work with sales people guffawing loudly all day long.Pay is decent, but you may work very long hours and many fearing loss of job will do additional work at home. People wear forced smiles, but there is a creepy, palpable sense of fear underlying the whole company. There is little upward movement, just lateral. You may get a new title, but then, even more work. Additionally, there is also an incredible obsession with team meetings and teleconferencing. It really detracts from your own work and you wind up working unnecessary long hours or working from home to play catch up.Not a place to work if you want to be happy in your efforts and free to express concerns

Pros

free snacks - finding a cheerier job when you leave

Cons

buy your own office supplies - too many team meetings and status reports - very depressed co-workers
