Overall great company to work for

Featured review

Bristol Myers Squibb selected this as a representative review
After the Celgene acquisition, BMS has become a company that has many things going on all the time. It’s an overall flexible and enjoyable place to work. Managers want you to succeed in your career and future endeavors.

Fun workplace but horrible management

Great place to work but management sucks. Contractors are not properly compensated.Company after merger went downhill My Department has multiple contractors who are excused from coming onsite yet other 2 employees are pushed to come everyday and not given wfh opportunities

I survived a merger, but died with the day to day

Everyone knows a merger brings change, but the level and execution were handled poorly. Many employees complained of the work-load but mid-level managers were seemingly unable or unwilling to do anything about it.

Greay pay, benefits, bonuses and perks

Double workload

Toxic environment

Toxic overnight environment. Their were favoritism, cliques, & unprofessional managers that didn’t know the scope of their jobs. Pay was great, overall the company was great just the environment.

Not good

Stay away! I did not like it when I was there. No work life balance. Too much hatred at work. Not recognizing your work. It’s just a lot and I did not like it.

Great place to work

Enjoy it much more than working for my previous lab. They do a good job of hiring friendly and positive people. The shifts can feel long though and there is a lot of sitting around between operations.

Too much work/ poor management support

As a senior project director direct coordination with other Departments managers and Directos very poor understanding of their own projects. Our group was responsible for designs and implementation and delivery of qualified construction and deliver including qualification, but management poorly support projects delivered as required and scheduled approved by them Poor understanding of projects benefits to the Company goals and objectives.

Good people

There is a lot of great people there that you get to work with. The managers are not great at all of following or giving out information. There is a lot of gray areas and finding out stuff by yourself. The company need to do a better job communication. The managers have not say in anything. The HR team in not on site so if you have a issue you will be waiting a lot time for a answer or information.

Not Much

What stands out is the former manager of the RM lab. Liked to yell a lot. But since she retired, it doesn’t matter. And the chemists weren’t very helpful to new employees.

New lab

Bad moral

Productivity and food

Enjoyed my experience. Great office polite people. Helpful team members. Plenty of room for growth opportunities. I enjoyed my time there. They do a lot of cross training.

Culture of caring for employees and patients.

Excellent culture of caring for employees and patients. Leadership truly encourages a good work life balance. Great medical and dental benefits. Generous vacation time.

BMS is a great company with many opportunities for the right people who meet the qualifications and style of pharmaceutical research and development company.

Not recommended

They force you to work in the office. Only 15 days pto but unlimited sick. Immediate independence will be expected and management is not there to support you.

The culture of the management needs to change

They expect for you the job of 3 of 4 people. Requested assistance multiple times to manager and never received it. When I went a different route I was written up hence the reason I left.

Ok place to contract

2 yr contractor. In 2022 the company decided everyone had to return to 50% remote with no real data justifying it. Glad my contract ended. Tons of ppl leaving for this reason. Disappointed that 2yrs of high productivity didn’t make mgmt reassess letting operations stay remote.

Great team

Upper mgmt doesn’t support their depts

Good people to work with

Teamwork is great and people are willing to help you all the time. Unfortunately the company do not give individual contributors long term incentives (LTIs) annually; you have to be Associate Director or above.

Teamwork, inclusive environment

Not good health care benefits for single employees, no LTIs (stock options)for individual contributors.

Big Brother is watching you, i.e., they want you onsite to monitor you

The name stands out, brand recognition. Not much else though. Good communication via TVs throughout but no real interaction onsite and they wanted you onsite a few days a week. Disconnected management and policies.
